Judge bars US from enforcing Trump administration asylum ban .. dafuq?

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/jud...ons-asylum-ban

Trump issued a proclamation on Nov. 9 that said anyone who crossed the southern border would be ineligible for asylum.

So let me get this straight. Dude can’t even take steps to secure our borders, to stop illegal immigration without some federal judge being “HOLD ON hold on guys it’s not fair to them” and now they’re showing up in van loads

Should be clear this judge gives zero fuks about the welfare of this country

Supreme Court already told the lower courts to knock chit like this off.

It'll be interesting to see if they do anything about it.

When you dumb down the situation to that level of unadulterated ignorance, it does justify your opposition to the idea.

It's called checks and balances.

This isn't a dictatorship. That way dumb chit can't be passed.

Checks and balances, boyos. We have them specifically so we don't end up with an angry orange toddler wandering into the oval office and shtting on democracy.

Checks and balances also mean others can’t over step their boundaries (ie when trump issues a travel ban within his legal limits and some judges get all activist on us and the Supreme Court has to bitch slap the judges for it).

Asylum must be seeked at first country which the caravan has already passed.

It's kind of a pain looking through old SC rulings, but here's an article:

In Travel Ban Ruling, Justice Thomas Takes Aim At Nationwide Injunctions

Below quote is directly from Thomas' ruling.
Injunctions that prohibit the Executive Branch from applying a law or policy against anyone…have become increasingly common. District courts, including the one here, have begun imposing universal injunctions without considering their authority to grant such sweeping relief. These injunctions are beginning to take a toll on the federal court system—preventing legal questions from percolating through the federal courts, encouraging forum shopping, and making every case a national emergency for the courts and for the Executive Branch.

I am skeptical that district courts have the authority to enter universal injunctions. These injunctions did not emerge until a century and a half after the founding. And they appear to be inconsistent with longstanding limits on equitable relief and the power of Article III courts. If their popularity continues, this Court must address their legality.
