The saddest part about guys with the whole "getting sex/women is everything" mindset is that when they finally do start getting laid, they realize that yeah, it's cool, but it's not the meaning of life, and they spend years or decades of their lives being worried and anxious about nothing, and putting sex on this huge pedestal. I can't imagine what the disappointment would be like to think of sex/women/etc as this huge remarkable unattainable end goal of life until you're over thirty years old and then experiencing the actual reality of it all.
Wincel seems like a bright guy with a lot to offer (he's commented on my math/brainy topics a lot). It's a shame that he reduces the human spirit and experience to that of an amoeba.

I still think one of the more out there things I've heard from fas here is that guy who was super bitter that no woman would apparently put up with his apparent ugliness and disability, but then stated that if he ever did manage to find a woman who would "put up" with it d be with him, he'd leave her if she got cancer lmao.
Wtf.
Can't remember the details in going to have to look for it now to deal with my curiosity.

We would like to believe ourselves to be superior to the amoeba or cyanobacteria or other lifeforms, but it is not so. Sure, we are smart, but intelligence is just one of many traits that helps lifeforms solve the evolutionary problem. Most of the successful lifeforms on this planet did not need to employ that strategy.
Furthermore, the nature of certain types of bacteria grants them the resilience to thrive in many environments that we could not. It is very likely that they will outlive our species. I believe intelligent life was destined to emerge, and our "purpose" is to send these microbes off to other habitable planets to start the cycle of growth and replication over again elsewhere. I believe this is the nature of life, and it is the manner by which life may survive the many coming disasters that our universe presents. Sadly, it is unlikely life will survive in the long run. It appears to only be a transient phenomenon, and specific challenges that the universe presents to life in the long run make it unlikely for any life to eventually exist in the very distant future.
Unlikely, but amusingly, not impossible -- especially if some models for how new universes form are valid. There may be a way to sneak some information through. lol...Who knows what the future will hold?

I honestly don't know why anyone is upset that wincel doesn't feel sorry for someone that died. It's sad that he died but wincel not feeling for sorry for him isn't going to make a difference.

Donny is one of the few miscers who can actually call out a miscer and not get flak for it. These are my favourite kinds of threads because it actually tries to address the fact that we have some users with major problems and it brings them (the user) to the forefront instead of just having their mentality limited to the thread where it's on display where most people'll even skip it because of it not being the first post.
wincel is one of the lesser evils here, other posters could do with purging but I don't believe in speaking ill of the dead unless they were actually bad people. It's pretty telling, if someone dies and you have to drop red pill content on it. Such people should just keep it to themselves.

They say Bach can cure depression and i firmly believe the lyrics of Maria Carey's 'Hero' could save wincel.
And then a wincel comes along
With the strength to carry on
And wincel casts his fears aside
And wincel knows he can survive
So wincel when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And that emptiness you felt
Will disappear
And then a wincel comes along
With the strength to carry on
And wincel casts his fears aside
And wincel knows he can survive
So wincel when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth

Also, your nihilistic logic simply devours itself. Followed to its logical conclusion, we're simply a rock spinning around a star in one solar system out of trillions in one galaxy out of four hundred billion. We all die, we're currently moving from a state of low entropy to high entropy, so in the end, what difference will it make if you reproduce and pass on your genes?
Here's a thought bro, focus on bettering your life and enjoying simple pleasures while they last, rather than trying to find refuge in pseudo-scientific reductionist nonsense.

And I agree with most of your response, but in no way would I define any of that under “purpose.” The natural order of events is not purpose.
Intelligent life may or may not have been “destined.” In any event it didn’t have a purpose for continuing the cycle of life by sending microbes to new planets. Where would such “purpose” come from? Certainly not natural selection.

As I said, in all likelihood, life ends here on Earth. I was just looking at potential ways it could continue. Not sure why this bothers you. My statements were never against empathy, groups, love etc. Not sure where people are getting that. Also not sure why you brought up Sam Harris. I've seen some of his statements, and they seemed pretty good on some things. I know he is a biologist so he has studied evolution and natural selection. Anyway, we clearly evolved these traits because they were advantageous. Otherwise, we wouldn't have them. You can call what I say nonsense, but you haven't really presented any counterargument against it. Also, what is wrong with reductionism?

So, if you zoom out and tell the history of life, and if life left the planet, the "role" the intelligent life would have played in the story would have been to chuck the microbes to the next rock. Of course, there is no grand story, and no author. But you see what I mean.Higher as in how the term is traditionally used - so yes intelligence.

I'm not mad, but I'm taking issue with your claim that once someone has reproduced, they have lived a meaningful life, and that the full range of human emotions are simply a means to that end. That's beyond simplistic. It might make a difference. If the microbes keep hopping from rock to rock, and intelligent life keeps emerging, it is possible that life may find the time to determine new ways to store the information and replicate it in the universe. They may even be able to find a way to pass it into new universes if certain models of cosmology turn out to be valid. It is a long shot, but life could survive theoretically in a very different form. This isn't pseudoscience so much as it is looking at science and then looking at what might be philosophically. I am not saying any of this will happen.
