Anybody know anything about UTVs?

We want one but so many options I don’t know where to start.

May want to have up to 4 people in it so was looking at the 2 row ones. But some of the single row ones can fit 3 people and I figured they’d maneuver a lot better.

I want a work/rec one that can do both. Would want to use it around the house pulling out fallen trees, firewood, maybe some attachments and all that but also want it for rec use in case we want to go hit an off-road Park for the weekend or something. Was looking at Polaris Rangers.

I know all the UTV's are expensive as hell. Might as well buy a used Jeep Wrangler

I haven't actually looked at them in person, but I would consider the Honda Pioneer for something over 2 seats. The 4 seat Polaris rides are all so damn long. You're going to need a 10 acre field to turn them around. The perfect thing for what you want is the Polaris General, but you're talking big money there. It's the cross between the Ranger and RZR and they're proud of them. Look at Abernathy's website. Being in AR it's going to be a little drive for you, but their prices are so good they have people come from CA, NV, etc. They've been selling the fire out of the 2018 Pioneer 1000-5 (technically 5 seats) according to their ******** posts. The 2018 are around $13.5K right now.

If you have an astigmatism, the dot will probably look more like either a comet or a larger blob. It'll still get the job done, but it's kind of annoying to some. I prefer prism sights, because the reticle is etched on the glass and is therefore nice and crisp like it should be for those of us without perfect eyes. Primary Arms, Vortex, Burris, and Athlon all have prism sights that are pretty nice and have good warranties.

Yup. Red dots look like ass to me. Have an eye doc appt coming up. Apparently my wife got glasses to wear over her contacts that control the astigmatism only. Gonna see if I can do that because I’m not a fan of these prism optics. Have been trying out a Vortex and yea just don’t like it.

Eotechs look a bit better. If the doc can’t fix me I may just switch to LPVOs.

there are advantages to the UTV that I would benefit from since where I hunt, the guy that manages the place won't let us drive into the bottom to preserve the roads and we could leave it hooked up the the duck boat and it would make launching/retrieving said boat much easier

also, they're fun

Just curious, what don't you like about the prism sight? My Vortex Spitfire does have my least favorite reticle out of the sights I own, but I can still shoulder and have the sight on target just as fast as any red dot I've used. The Athlon I have is my favorite reticle and believe is made in the same factory as Vortex. I like Primary Arms' ACSS reticle a lot too, but on their 1x sight it's just incredibly small.

The reticle, eye relief seems pretty poor, and there’s distortion on the edges. It’s not a true 1 power. I mean it works ok enough but I’d probably rather deal with a crappy grape cluster on an aimpoint or MRO.

Red dots with an astigmatism are definitely annoying, but I've never found it has affected my shooting. Put the blob on the bulls eye and pull trigger. Works just the same as if the dot was more crisp to me.

I want to get lasik done bad, but I can't get myself to pay ~$2k per eye for it. I'll have to keep wearing glasses for now.

That's pretty much been my experience . . . my astigmatism sees more of a blob, but it's not all that hard to figure out what part of the blob is right and you just put that where you want to shoot. Close enough for me from what I have found. Usually that correct area is more pronounced and you just ignore the lighter/stray smears.

It's better with my glasses on va contacts. Can't do Lasik so that option is out completely.

Does it typically take a week or two for Palmetto to ship uppers? Have an order that's been processing for 10 days now.

Consider it a success if it ultimately makes it to the correct state.

Not srs.

Maybe partially srs.

PSA shipping used to be a sore subject and running joke around here. They've honestly been pretty good with things I have ordered and I think have been generally much more solid on their processes for most here for some time. But it wouldn't shock me if they had a glitch here and there like "the old days".

Pretty much.

Any time you make an order with them, it might ship the next day or it might ship in 2 weeks. I've experienced both and everything in between with them lol.

Just ordered some Scepter water cans. I order a couple every once and a while to keep adding to my water stash. Have a mix of 20L and 10L. Don’t buy as much as I should because it’s not as fun as stashing ammo or whatever.

lol, the history they have with shipping and with customer service in general...has often take weeks.

And it's the busiest buying/shipping time of the year clearly with it being cyber monday week/post black friday week.

Be patient.

They have gotten better over the last year or so, but yeah they have a history of slow shipping or at least are inconsistent with it. Considering you bought during Black Friday timeframe, it'll be worse. I'd still guess it would ship soon though.
