I don't necessarily believe his accusers.

I'm just pointing out the rather strange way he chooses to defend himself. People who have a very high opinion of themselves tend to speak when they should shut their mouth. Ask any cop who has done interrogations... the narcissists are the ones who think they can talk their way out of any situation. NDT would have been better served with a response vetted by attorneys, than what he posted online.

Are you kidding man? That would be terrible for PR. Only people who are actually guilty and need lawyers to speak for them so they won't say or admit anything that could get them in trouble do that, prime example: Bill Cosby.

He started off by even saying that he's been trying to not bring media attention to accusations that don't even warrant his response since they are false, but he had no choice since it's literally everywhere now. He handled it well and didn't leave any room for guessing to the public. He told us exactly how he knows the accusers and exactly what happened in the certain situations he was accused of allegedly having "sexual misconduct". Seems like a completely honest and legit response to me, nothing narcissistic about that at all.

You're missing the point.

There is an old lawyer expression that "only a fool has himself for a client". No matter how good you are as a lawyer, you shouldn't defend yourself in court.

NDT should be smart enough to know that the ONLY response to these charges should be one vetted by an attorney before it is released. No attorney vetted what he posted. No lawyer worth his salt would allow his client to go into any of that detail. If this goes to court, this will be used against him. The fact that NDT responded in this fashion without getting a lawyer involved points to a character flaw in him. That character flaw implies there may be others. It's not a huge leap that somebody who thinks so highly of his own intelligence that he thinks he doesn't need an attorney, may also think so highly of his own desirability that he overstepped boundaries while trying to seduce women. Let's be real, we all know he was trying to get into the pant of that wine & cheese sloot. He's already guilty of lying about that in his statement.

He's trying to answer potential legal charges in the court of public opinion. He didn't help himself. If you get accused of a crime, you hire a lawyer and you listen to the advice that lawyer gives you. They are the ones who know their way around a courtroom, not you. They are the ones who will give you your best chance of acquittal.

I'm no fan of lawyers, but I know they have their role in society and right now, NDT should be listening to his lawyers.

Sadly this. Some women are horrifically brutalized. Now hugging is considered a form of rape. The only people this benefits are actual rapists, since now everyone is mostly considered a rapist (who hasn't sexed up when drunk?) and women who want to weaponize it. The actual victims are diminished.

I think you're missing the point, I don't think he's worried about potential legal charges, i'm almost positive his public statement will be exactly what he would say in the courts as well. The truth is the truth, only someone who is truly guilty will be afraid to give a public statement, due to the fear of being caught in a lie and obviously potentially used against him in a court of law if any new evidence would arise. I really think he's being as honest and truthful as possible here, at most hes probably guilty of having a small crush for that chick he took out for wine. And even that is debatable. Like someone else said, he's provided an exact statement of his version of events, until we get theirs or any other sort of evidence, it's all looking to be bs. But atleast he got his side out, so now it's all on them really. I think releasing a personal statement was the right thing to do.

I didn't take his response as being driven by narcissism. I took it as a detailed, information based explanation that is typical of someone that was trained in the scientific method and is accustomed to positing facts and compiling them. He spoke like a scientist.

Not unlike the young engineer that was fired from Google for apparently being anti woman in the workplace.

You're MAGA crew. Do you think Trump's narcissism makes him guilty of the sexual assault charges levied against him? Or that he is more likely to sexually assault women? I mean, did his lawyers tell him to use the specific phrase of "horse face?".

The onus is not on NDT to prove his innocence. Him relating his experience of the accusations does not constitute a legal defense and the court of public opinion does not constitute a court of law. Further, it could just as well indicate that he acknowledges his status as a role model and feels compelled to explain himself to those he might influence. If that is the case, how is that narcissistic?

He has every right to tell his side of things and those that think objectively appreciate the information.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Its kinda like when your gf accuses you of something, and you know you didnt do it, but you submit a defense anyway.. then you find yourself saying to yourself, why am I even doing this **** right now?

He looks a bit weasely even offering up a defense, innocent or not. Theres no level of charm that can outdo **** talk. Just move on.

The first 2 are disgusting on the part of the accusers. The 3rd is word against word.

1st case -
Girl has tattoo of the galaxy, Neil looks to see if she has Pluto included on it. He touched her arm.

I imagine he was just being friendly, but even if he was making a move, he touched her arm. He didn't rape her. He touched her arm.

2nd case -
Girl accepts invitation from a man back to his place for wine and cheese. She accepts freely, on the way out he gives her a handshake where he extends his thumb to her wrist pulse.

I don't know if Neil was making a move on her, but if he was, what's wrong with that? Is it wrong for a man to seek out an intimate relationship with a woman? Whatever the case. He touched her wrist, during a handshake. He touched her wrist for fuk sake.

3rd case -
Girl accuses him of drugging her, he says he didn't she says he did.

The poster above me drugged me and raped me last night. That's as much weight an accusation has, it's word against word.

-----

Even if the accused is found innocent, their name is forever tainted. Touching someones arm isn't rape, whether he was making a move on a girl, or just being a friendly nerd... it's not a big deal, especially after he invites you TO HIS PLACE FOR WINE... holy fuk.

By 2 out of 3 of these cases, we've all sexually assaulted someone, those 2 are an absolute joke.

The 3rd, where he got accused of drugging then raping, that's obviously very serious, but it's word against word
Fak U say? Cheeky kent ya, i'll fakin fak ya, ya lil sloot
