Seriously though if you are legit OP then respect and all the best to you man. Doesn't matter what path you take as long as it takes you to where you want to go.
Love me some TPB, one of the best shows ever, might have to re-watch it for the lulz.

brb gonna use the Swayzie Express.

and yes the OP is legit, disregard all the haters trying to smear any of my accomplishments towards my own goals(they clearly have the details all fukked up thats what happens when i stay in someones head too long but they don't actually want to sift through the details of what really happened, its all on the misc just gotta look), as this has been something I've held in my heart for the last 6 years and actively worked towards.

Maybe try and tone down the arrogance a bit.

Because that's what you come off across as.

have you read any of my responses to legit questions ITT?

no need to antagonize me for me responding to people who instigate trouble. Misc haters come from the shadows when they can no longer keep their silence. So i have to keep them in line to keep the OP's topic strong.

I would find it very difficult and unfulfilling to retire off of only $3k/month passive income.

Legit financial advisers look at their clients' portfolios and then give advice after looking at the numbers.

You're giving some generic info based on your experience; and brag while you do it.

You're not a financial adviser. Stop pretending to be one.

Re read the OP and tell me what the message from it is....maybe that's how the title came to existence.

I am reiterating that time is the most valuable asset young people need to capitalize on before its too late.

again why do you not want me to make a thread to promote awareness for young peoples to make use of their most valuable asset?

So you don't want to have any money for travel? You want to live in a trailer forever? I can guarantee you that you won't be retiring in 3 years.

What happens when your area experiences a down market and you find yourself unable to rent the trailer? What happens when you have someone completely trash it and you have to evict them, all the while they are not paying rent?

I also plan on becoming financially independent but I am giving myself 10 years, I will have 10-15 rental properties, money in an IRA, money in a life insurance policy, etc. several different forms of income.

You aren't even close, just being realistic with you.

what if i told you I'll still work casual during my time of being FI.

I choose not to throw around the word retirement because i do enjoy and am good at what i do for work and won't just shut it out. My beef with work is the full time aspect of it.
i'm guessing you didn't read all the posts ITT, but i have eluded that I'll have other incomes being generated that's not my trailer homes, on the side that will not be touched(additional safety net of ~2k usd a month).

The difference between now, and 3 years from now is if i am working full time, it is because i legitimately want too, not because i have too. Hence why I call it financially independent.

And no i will not live in a trailer forever lol.

actually i want to build a garage with a small living suite, and move there so i can get another stream of rental income from the home i am living right now. (rent it out of course when i leave)

it would not be hard to find a stable renter(at work(health care crew) I'm known as the guy that knows people so every couple months i get random transient workers(usually RNs) hit me up cause they heard that i know where all the rentals are srs. In facted i've lived with a bunch of RNs that work at my site for the first several years of my work and they all live a similar lifestyle of going to work, coming home to sleep and then fukking off on their days off. Barely around long enough to damage the place, also these RNs come up alone most the time and don't have families.

Again I'll reiterate, no where near financial independence.

All I do is investment real estate, I've made over 300k this year from it, so I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about.

But hey good for you if you think this is stable enough to stop earning.

sounds more like one more year syndrome. I am not going to lie, the temptation to continue working after 3 years full time is strong not because i need to work to pay my bills but the amount of money i'll start bringing due to being debt free and having so many different sauces of income.

then again, I don't want to fall into the trap of squandering all my time for the lust for a higher paycheck.

I want to be flat broke when i die, If i have children they can have my real estate that should be more than enough.

I know if i did hit FI i would have much more opportunity for entrepreneurial endeavors as well. in fact I am currently working on one right now, trying to come up with a solution for providing children of low income homes to get skateboards under their feet, so they can have something to give them self esteem.

how much of your non refundable time do you want to give up just so your retirment balance has a few more zeros on the end of it?

how lavish do you want to live?

The message in the OP was the use time for a means of generating wealth and to start asap.
seems to be pretty simple and rock solid advice if you ask me.
i don't think many people fully comprehend the power of compound interest like you or I, so it's helpful to paint a picture for those that need more of a visual.

I can agree with the thought of wealth generating wealth over time...but your FIRE plan is waaay too premature and comes off like a brag thread.

The posted dream of living in/renting trailers with a 30k+ retirement income is anything but a brag worthy lifestyle.

Passive six figures....yeah, now were talking.

Who said I would live in a trailer when i quit my job, I know for a fact I wouldn't be the only satellite landlord in the area

you probably need 6 figures of passive income to be happy, my only need after food and shelter is to skateboard. don't think i need a 6 figure passive income(as nice as it would be) to get that.

Doesn’t make sense.

Edit:I didn’t read anywhere that that he is trying to retire early.
don't want to retire, i would love to one day own a skate company and have team of riders I can take on trips and do fun things like make videos, sell some merch and create a brand with close friends.

I didn't think the OP came off as bragging...

OP sounds like he's a minimalist, maybe that's something people didn't catch. Nothing wrong with minimalism. Also sounds like OP doesn't have kids, so FI doesn't seem too far fetched.

A lot of what I invest in is equipment for my work which helps me make more money and is setting me up for bigger and better things down the road. I only give to 401K what my company matches and it's not the best company for that so it's not a lot. I've been spending money on the house, which I have no mortgage and it sits in a growing area.

No kids, no Gf, no wife.

I agree that $3k/month doesn't leave you with much after but if you have your needs covered why bother have the excess (especially if you have other safety nets in place).

I think when the topic of FI/retirement comes up people can get worked up because they are unknowingly applying their own circumstance to someone else financial picture.

of course you also have the regular nay sayers that come in here to discourage others(but that is to be expected).

GJ OP.

People are getting hung up on the details/timeline. Doesn't matter, the the most important part is breaking ground on making money that doesn't require your ass at the job site.

You have to look at OP's post history to realize he makes brag threads often about his trailers
