millenials getting cucked at all angles

i love it when people complain about millennials being too lazy / entitled / whatever to do the things the previous generation did, like buy houses and invest.

in reality, the previous generation of boomers lucked into a great economic time with prosperous jobs that were SO good they could buy a house and raise a family on a SINGLE INCOME LOL.

today, when many of the millenial generation graduated or entered the workforce right around the 2008 housing crisis, they have far greater debts, and far less income.

millenials paid something like, what, 1,200% more than the boomer generation for education (ive seen figures ranging from 1000% more to 20,000% more lololololol)

millenials earn something like, what, 20% less than the boomer generation when accounting for inflation

and they wonder why nobody is buying a house

the boomers were entitled as

You must be a younger millenial. Older millenials have been having this convo when they couldn't get jobs above min wage in 2004 after the first market crash. No one gave a chit, told us we were losers of weak constitution, etc. In reality, the boomers need to hold on to their current jobs for as long as possible because their 401ks got drained. Then they recovered, and didn't return the favor. Instead, they started further capitalizing on the new depraved mindset of the working economy. As a new lawyer, you may be finding out how little you make in comparison to these people, often a magnitude off. Such is the case for a lot of professional fields.

It takes a DECADE before the "voting" generation owns up to anything.

And don't forget, OP. Most Boomers had their parents homes as collateral, or as an inheritance. And this became even more important as they rode the growth tsunami. This is pretty accurate in my field (pharmacy). The offers that new professionals received in 03 were better than what we receive now. Lmao, we had job fairs where companies were giving us sign on bonuses right out of school to entice us to work there. That’s unheard of today. The cost of living went up, and wages stagnated. This doesn’t mean it’s impossible to succeed, but by most measurable metrics, it is more difficult than it was before the recession.

My self and all of my Millennial friends (including their spouses) ages 28-33 could afford to buy houses (and some have) independently on their own income.

I'm tired of the excuses.

I'm a millennial and just bought a house for $440k this year with my millennial wife. Most millennials are idiots who know nothing about financial planning. You just need to be smart and actually not act like an entitled kunt. I lived at home for the first few years after college, then I got a shtty apartment with a roommate and continued saving tons of money through my 20s. That led to me being able to purchase a nice big house when I was 30. My wife and I put down $88,000 all from savings during our 20s. Millennials ARE entitled because most of them don't want to save money in their 20s, even though they can, all it means is cutting back on many of the lavish things they have access to which boomers did not. You don't need your own apartment in NYC or San Fran. You don't need to get the newest iPhone every year. You don't need to go out for lunch every day. You don't need to go out for dinner every day either. Learn to get a roommate, learn to cook and learn to live with your two year old phone.

I feel for lawyerbrahs out there. I thought about law school but decided against it after talking to some guys that had just gotten into the field. They make less than I do and have much more tuition debt. I was talking to one of our defense attorneys about it last month and he said when he was hired he was one of six that graduated from one of the 2 law schools in the state hired by the firm. He said the firm has only hired one new attorney in the past 2 years and he was one of the tops in his class at Duke.

Don't even want to hear excuses from them either because 95% of the people on my snap chat are out at bars EVERY. FKING. NIGHT. of the weekend and even during the week. Not trying to learn how to build wealth, not doing anything for self improvement, etc., just doing the same fkn chit to numb their pain of student debt.

I have a feeling 2019 and 2020 are going to be hard times for our economy. Boomers will start cashing out of their investments and most millennials are too stupid or don't even invest to keep it going

Considering millennials go out more than boomers, they probably enjoy that more.

My parents (boomers) even said that they like the idea that their kids go out and socialize with friends. Boomers had to deal with working, and then making ends meet. It can be done on single-income, but you still had to budget accordingly.

Millennials spend their disposable income on gadgets that are far over-priced, yet they supplement the economy with their spending habits, which creates a cycle of inflated prices.

Millennials want their own home, but want to live the expensive life they maintain. Even if I went in on a house alone, I don't have a lot of room to do other things with my additional income. My wife and I going in together makes it easier.

Millennials supplement a food industry that literally preps food for them (ingredients or made meals) and left at their door. Their reason? "Well to come home and think of what to make for dinner is a lot of work". LMFAO that's even an issue. You spend extra money for someone to deliver potatoes to your house, because you couldn't think of what to have for dinner?


Millennials spend too much money, thinking in the present. They are their own victims.

Ok...I might as well debunk your theory but here is guessing you wont spend five minutes actually researching the data...

-How many USELESS degrees were there in the 1950s - 2000s? Almost all degrees were legitimate degrees that built careers and were based upon fields that were available...

Make all your own meals..

See you can have it all JUST like your parents did ...but oh wait you dont want those sacrifices. You want to have insanely high monthly expenses, get a worthless degree, travel the world, only want HUGE houses, a luxury car for your first car and then cry and claim you have it rough.....all of this RIGHT out of college - You live in a fantasy land...

Just lmao at whiny millennials. I owned a 3 bedroom ranch, 2 vehicles, 4 wheeler, and had a great job by 24 years old. It's called hustling...get off mommas teet, leave the cave, kill something, and come home. I also made sure to get a useful engineering degree and didn't party my azzhole off in college. All the millennials i see who are failures did the exact opposite ( used debt to live in college, took a chit degree) and are now working as bartenders and baristas in their late 20's and 30's. Trust me, if you have a useful skill or degree there is no shortage of jobs. A skilled tradesman makes twice what an entitled college graduate makes, but they also aren't afraid to work.
