I look like a fat whale, my working weight on deads is currently 405 and I will be adding weight next week. I bench 235 for reps right now, and my overhead press is holding steady at 140lbs and rising. I dont care about squats, I stopped adding weight at 315.

if you saw me you would think "no way that fat phuck lifts anything but oreos to his face portal"

pretty much all the people at my gym who have good physiques deadlift and im the only man of girth that I know of that does deads.

never seen a skinny fat dyel deadlift more than 2 plates though

Good genetics and strong, pretty big guys. They don't look like much because their bodyfat%s are in obvious do-not-care mode. If those guys cut down they'd look great, but the difference between a big guy at 20% and a lean guy @ 12% is night and day.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

He just doesn't seem to have much muscle despite his deadlift.

I have now decided that deadlifts are good for strength and nothing else. The results speak for themselves.

I'm convinced like 90+ % of the deadlift max is determined by leverages. Either genetic (body proportions) or technique. There seems to be almost no carryover between deadlift max and other lifts.

Yep. Brb forgetting about building a big deadlift and focusing on squats, presses, rows etc. Exercises that actually DO something

You ****s are just now figuring out that bodybuilding doesn’t actually make you stronger? A big skeletal frame and good genetics is what matters. I drink like 12 beers everyday and never lift, but I bet I could manhandle 99% of you fitness queers. Redneck farm strength is real power. Me and my brother could stack a thousand bales of hay in a barn in a single day when we were like 9 years old. Deadlifts fukkin lol, I could bring that Nancy boy to his knees with just a handshake.

I worked with a guy who grew up on a farm. He was an absolute unit pushing 300 lbs. His elbows were the size of my knees. Strong as all phuck and never been in gym in his life.

Demotivated to ever deadlift again

All genetics and leverages

Edit: your avi is a very similar physique to me, but I max out on deadlift around 360

This. A few years ago a 4 plate deadlift put you in a respectable rank in the misc. With the rise in popularity of powerlifting, the standards have risen dramatically due to so many guys pulling 600-700lbs.

DL and squat requirements have gone up every year. Still, after all these years benching 3 plates has always been considered impressive, just like OHP 2 plates. Pressing movements are simply way more impressive I guess.

How about dipping 3 plates? I can do that for reps.
