Lost my virginity at 17 while still in high school to a girl who was 18 (almost 19) and in college. I kinda know these feels but honestly high school love ain't all that. Most of the girls I went to school with were a bunch of immature sloots who attracted drama like a magnet. nobody is saying to wife up your teen gf. Also, people are more conniving when they get older. Wants you become more aware of the world, innocence is lost, and you can never have that naive love again. there is only that short window of youth.

Do they still have Sadie Hawkins dances? Always had a blast going to school dances. Hanging out with friends, dancing, making out on the dance floor with your girl, drive to the after party.

I made my son go to his 6th grade Fall dance. He didn't want to, felt insecure, etc. If he really pushed back I wouldn't have, but he ended up going and having a great time. I'll continue to push him to be social.

While somewhat wish that I could have shagged sloots during HS, at the same time I'm conflicted because I feel like it would have been a compromise of character, especially integrity and dignity.

Then again I'm puzzled that those options were never on the table during HS, let alone now. I wasn't a filthy nerd, fat, but perhaps awkward around those I didn't know. Looking back, I wasn't cool enough for the popular kids and I wasn't nerdy enough wan't to associate fully with the nerdy kids, so you end up being an 'in-betweener.'

became more comfortable with myself, became more outgoing and now i associate myself with pretty much everyone

if anything though I’d rather hang with the nerds and unpopular because being on both sides of the fence you realize those “popular” kids know how to kiss ass and act fake. They tend to be very bad friends and selfish. all of my best mates have always been the innetweeners that play a bit of sports but aren’t popular

I've got trouble getting comfortable in public environments due to anxiety, perhaps from self-esteem issues. While the FA life is simple, there are certain times where you have to stop and think about the future.
