This is common for most men and that is usually the last place for fat to come off, AND the first place to return! If it wasn't for a little fat hanging around in those two areas, I would stay sub 10% year around.

So true and it gets worse as we age.

That's the last place I lose fat when prepping.

BRB: Every where is striated and shredded but turn around and a little band of the fluff.

IN on dis thread.

Have dropped from like 187lbs (dreamer bulk) down to 162lbs. Probs gone from 20-25% bodyfat to whatever I am now (12,13,14?)

Initially I planned on hitting 8% bodyfat around 159-161lbs, but now im closer to that, I think it's going to be more like 150-153lbs - if not less.

Normally I always get down to around the bodyfat I am in the video below and then get scared thinking im just losing muscle mass and I look scrawny - and then jump on like 4000 cals a day again and get fat and repeat. Ultimately always never looking good.

What do you guys think? What do you reckon 8% bodyfat would be given current stats?

Height 5ft 8 btw

I'll likely start in late february. I'll try to keep fat gain to a minimum until then. May do a small bulk in between, nothing crazy lik in the past. I never want to be more than a couple months away from a six pack again.

The first mistake is selecting a weight to cut to, thinking at that weight you will reach the desired bf%. Just cut until you reach the desired bf% regardless of your weight.

Use the mirror more than the scale to acquire The Shredz.

When The Shredz are acquired then slowly add calories to build muscle with minimum fat gain.

I know - it's just really hard for me to get my head around it psychologically. I feel like im wasting away and think to myself "ok, im 140lbs and shredded - but look tiny etc" - i know its a terrible mindset because its easy enough to get ripped and then slowly add muscle on whilst keeping fat low and you'd look so much better for it.

I'd guess around 14-15%. You may feel tiny, but get it over with and you'll have nowhere tog o but up. You'll look bigger shirtless by the end of it.

In for 2019 as well.

My physique improved a small bit but I was mainly focused on maintaining strength while training for a half marathon. Ended up stronger at a lower weight so Iโ€™m happy.

I would cut now but all progress will be lost around Christmas time so Iโ€™m waiting til 2019

That's the worst! That's why I always try to skip breakfast and have a very, very small lunch (like 2 eggs) and then a big dinner. I cant sleep if im hungry. Its horrible.

I'm cutting on 750 cals and before everyone flames me ..lol.. its because I eat out with friends for dinner like 2-3 nights a week, or something happens that I get forced into that involves eating/drinking alcohol. So if I take an actual average over the week, it works out to like 1250cals or so. And diet is like 80% protein, 20% fat otherwise.

Fat loss was 3.7lbs in first week, 5.4lbs in 2nd. Was doing too much cardio probably though for 2nd week, so i've cut it back down to an hour a day of LISS.

TDEE is approximately 3250-3500 most days.

Does anyone else feel like time goes really, really, really slowly when dieting

Mine is a simple 3 day, upper lower upper. Diet I only really focus on when I'm trying to gain/lose so I'm not tracking right now, just making conscious food decisions. No supplements right now.

Waist has dropped from 32.75 to 31" in the last couple of weeks. Down another 1.2lbs over last night (which is weird, as I had a pretty big cheat meal last night)

Weight loss is slowing down this week, as i've been less strict with diet and doing way less cardio (almost 50% of what I did the week before).

Got 2 days left of this "week" but so far lost 2.4lbs this week, which is good - as last week was like 5.4lbs and i think that was too much / too quickly.

Still need to drop more fat for abs to come properly out. I imagine I'm probably around 12-13% atm.

I guess my waist is going to need to be around 28-29" for decent abs at this rate. Still have a bit of fat on lower abs and love handles.

Current weight 160lbs. Estimating another 10lbs of fat loss should put me in the single digits and get the conditioning level i want.

I think you've got too much focus on the weight & BF%! Building an abdominal section should be your focus if you want abs! There is no mythical bf% or weight that is going to get you to your goal. If you want abs, you've got to build them like any other muscle.

This! and stop being concerned about bf%. Use the mirror until desired level of The Shredz is attained.

What usually happens is guys get set in their mind a weight /bf% at which they will acquire The Shredz. Then they reach preconceived goal and The Shredz have not been acquire.
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

True, but I'd be amazed if you could find someone with 7% bodyfat and undefined abs.

I've made the mistake (huge) in the past of not doing direct abs exercises, I relied on everything coming from big compound lifts. They dont feel small at the moment and when I pull down the fat - they look good still, but I know they would have looked so much better and come out at a much higher bodyfat, if I had been training them directly.

But I cant do anything about that now, other than start training them a few times a week, which im doing.

So much truth. This is what has ALWAYS stopped me getting shredded before. Always set weight and then panicked when I dropped below that and still dont look shredded. Then would get upset, think im wasting away, losing muscle etc - then would go on a dreamer bulk and gain 30-40lbs of fat, then get depressed at being too fat, cut down again - rinse and repeat. Ultimately never having a 'good' physique.
