Last week we had a short trip to St Augustine from Raleigh. Left the house at 1130am.

Stopped at Hardee's in Carthage Burger and Fries my only food for the day.

Did a small install in Pinehurst at 145.

Left and got a diet coke at 220.

Stopped at Texas Roadhouse in Savannah at 645 got a 23oz bone in Ribeye, house salad, plain Potato. Couple of rolls. Eat 60 to 70% of steak and save rest for breakfast.

Get to Hotel at 10 PM.

Get up at 6 finish plain steak and have 1 chocolate milk in lobby.

Do install from 730 to 1pm carrying furniture to second story. Desks, queen beds, chairs tables and two drawer dressers are done solo. Twin beds are solo.

Only sofas and 5 drawers are team lifts.

They want seafood. I don't eat seafood we stop at a place on the beach. I'm starving and get a burger and fries.

For dinner we stop at a truck stop and get 2 hot dogs and a donut because we want to be home before midnight.

It's quite often we don't get back till 2 to 4 am.

So that was a short day.

Typically it's hotel free breakfast.

Subway or someplace close to the jobsite, mom and pop pizza, deli, Chinese whatever.

Dinner is going to be Olive Garden, Longhorn, Buffalo Wild Wings, something along those lines. Mexican place. Just depends what city we're in and what's close to the hotel.
That's a lot of crap food and dang. How much do you spend on food a day????

You're going to go from eating like that to 2000 calories a day. I know you say that is what works for you, but here you are.

I restarted many times trying to get back in shape. What finally worked and keeps working is I didn't have a crazy diet plan, didn't force myself to do "intense" workouts. I was out of shape enough, that any positive change would have gotten results. But I was trying to do like what you're doing here, go for the quick results, workout like I was in my 20's. Even young guys can't maintain that and will fall off in their 30's and be fat by their late 30 to 40s. If not sooner.

I'll be getting on green tea this week. I drank tons of it for the double fat burning effect during my most successful cut.

every restaurant menu has low fat options. instead of burgers, you should get a couple grilled chicken sandwiches

the "energy" you're needing when you're doing that kind of work is carbs for glycogen repletion and you're getting a bunch of fat trying to chase it.

if you did that, you would automagically cut during the summer without trying srs

the tea does a great job of suppressing appetite too

Is this a specific kind of green tea? What exactly does green tea do to help you lose weight?

It has a compound called EGCG that has proven fat burning properties.

Then there's the studies about drinking ice cold water and making your body reheat it's core.
( you drink say 32oz rapidly)

So when you combine the two it helps a bit.

Other things I've done in the past is eating spicy food. Not sure if that has been disproved or not.

FFS man, stop worrying about this minutiae and just follow these basics for now:

1. Lift hard

2. Reduce your calories until you lose 1-2% body weight per week.

3. Consume 0.7g to 1.0g of protein per lb of body weight per day.

Do that, and everything else will fall into place for a good while.

I lift hard all the time except when I have to minimize thru injury.

With my screwed up metabolism I need all the minutiae because I was on 1700 cal and only losing .5lbs a week.

I want to lose 2lbs per week.
