Agreed.

But I don't owe the world chit. I'm fine with being selfish about things.

Logic, not even once.

OP is old and probably childless, this thread is a mix of cope and boredom.

How else does once come to the conclusion that having and raising a child, devoting unmeasurable amounts of time and resources, equates to selfishness.

Reasons to produce children: Things have been reproducing since the first molecule of RNA learned to read the blueprint of DNA. I'm guessing almost a billion years ago. So, a 1 billion year habit is kind-of hard to brake.

Nah fuk that. I don't want kids but if I ever do.. it's gotta be my own. I ain't making sacrifices for some random kid that isn't my blood. It's the ultimate cuckage to take care of another mans kids at a young age.

It's also selfish to not devote my free time to others and to not give away all the money that I earn except for bare necessities... but so what? Most of the things we do are selfish.

I would say that having a kid is often selfish, but being a good parent definitely is not. Sure, that seems contradictory, but the two don't always go together and life is complicated like that.

But yes, OP is being a typical internet edgelord.

I honestly feel kind of bad for people who are so broken they have no desire to produce children and be the best parent they can.

actually suicide is. the exact opposite of creating another life..

irony/10
a series of short tasks over a relatively longer period of time is life. altruistic light moves under the cover of your own darkness.. find this inner torch bearer and accompany them to the end. we all walk together, but we all walk alone. there is no understanding or purpose beyond that

interesting perspective, but i'd have to disagree.

Taking your own life is a decision that would only benefit the whole. Even if you had people that loved you very much, it would teach them loss and that dependance on others is dangerous and they would come out stronger on the other side. pain and loss is good. it teaches us the true nature of reality.
