I no longer drink in bars etc as imo it is pure degeneracy but back when I did it was almost impossible to find a decent bar/pub for conversation and socializing as everyone in every bar would be binge drinking.

There is a mentality in the working class of the UK where weekends are spent drinking and watching the football, they will annihilate themselves with alcohol on Friday and Saturday nights with the Sunday a complete write-off. Spending literally hundreds per weekend on "getting smashed", having no recollection of their time off from work, damaging their health and getting stuck at the lower class level because of what their time and money is spent on.

The emergency services such as Police and Ambulance are pushed to the limit dealing with drinking related offences and incidents, the irony being we pay for this with our taxes. So as a people in the UK, we are wasting our own tax payer money we pay by creating more expenditures for ourselves and thus keeping taxes high for public services.

In the UK it's common for binge drinking to start around 14/15 years of age.

In general this all stems imo from pure misery and self hatred. Obviously there is no dignity and financially/health wise it is very self limiting behavior only the self destructive would engage in, which is an attitude shared by at LEAST 50% of people aged 18-35. It is a huge problem that cannot be overcome in this country.
That's really sad.

so. much. truth. binge drinking is just part of the culture.

A&E on a friday and saturday night is disgusting. legit feel sorry for police and hospital staff that have to deal with this chit every weekend, holiday, and football game.

Technically it's illegal to be drunk, but no one would ever get done for it. Occasionally someone might get done for being 'drunk and disorderly'.

Ahugemajority of minor crimes aren't dealt with at all, law and order is so lax and the public so criminal that even if the police wanted to prosecute these crimes (which they don't) they simply would never be able to.

It saddens me that the English people let their underclass stay in this state of degeneracy.

I always wondered why England has such a rigid class society compared with other European countries. I've once heard that it goes back to the Norman conquest. Similiar to India, the Norman conquerers ruling over a vast Anglo-Saxon population cemented class difference to protect their minority rule.

It is very interesting how there are often two words for the same thing, one poor variant and of Anglo-Saxon origin and a rich variant of French/Norman origin.

Like beef (boeuf) - cow (Kuh in german)

or veal - calf (Kalb in german)

pork - swine (Schwein in german)

Yeah I am aware that one means the animal and the other thing the animal made into food, but still similiar enough to notice a trend, there is a wikipedia article called "List of English words with dual French and Anglo-Saxon variations
" on that topic with many more examples, can't link it.

People in the UK seem to have a self loathing and negativity. It’s chic to say how chitty the country is there it seems. Probably from losing their empire. America will be that way in 50-100 years though.
