The one thing they don't tell you about having kids

You might end up as an emotional bitch from time to time, and may tear up or cry.

Here are some examples from my experience.

Teared up when he was born
Straight up bawling 2weeks later when loving him kicked in
Almost cried when he hummed the entire game of thrones theme song perfectly
Teared up playing Mario Odyssey with him as he tried to sing the song that plays during a particularly nostalgic level
Teared up the first time I came home and got tackled with a hug
Overcome with feels when he gave me a kiss unprovoked

This chit just happens at random guys. Dave Chapelle knows what I'm talking about.

I'm not ready for the macaroni necklace guys

You have been warned

can confirm, I am daddy.. almost always catches you off guard too. my son clings to me like a barnacle; I love it. I know he won't be like this forever so trying to cherish times while they last.

a series of short tasks over a relatively longer period of time is life. altruistic light moves under the cover of your own darkness.. find this inner torch bearer and accompany them to the end. we all walk together, but we all walk alone. there is no understanding or purpose beyond that

Raising my wife's and her boyfriend's son right now. I dont have these feels. I only cry when I write the check every month for his day care bill. Im trying to be better though, be a real man and love him as my own. Sometimes when my wife takes the weekend off with her boyfriend and I am watching the little one, I do start to feel like he is my own.

And as long as you still love them, the feels never end; trust me

My 2 boys are 18 and 21. Both were home from college (I tear up every time they go back) and when the older one went back 2 days ago, younger brother walks up and hugs his big brother (watering just typing this...srs); I had to leave the room.

I just dropped my son off at daycare this morning for the first time since December (wife is a school counselor). He frowned and poked his bottom lip out at me when I handed him to the babysitter. I practically threw the check at her and got the hell out of there before the feels got to much

Can confirm was a waterfall mess when my son was born and I held him the first time. The first time you turn around and see him doing the extact same thing you do.

Another thing I didnt expect was how it effects what I watched on tv, and I dont mean cartoons. Can not watch anything where something bad happens to a kid, too much feels.
