OP, i 100% agree with others that this chick was down and trying to monkey branch. I also agree that you shouldnt be "that guy", or an "orbiter".
With that said, you mentioned it was a chick from work. Is this a chick you've known for a while? I understand you were initially romantically interested with her at first, but have you never had any legit female friends?
Of course it wont be as close or the same as male friends, but female friends are always fun to have. If you are cool and not a beta drooling all over her, she will most likely hook you up, or at the very least, introduce you to her friends. Also, you get to bring chicks into your friends group and help your homies out with chicks. Or at the very least, you get chicks into your friend group and that changes the whole dynamic (usually for the best).

I dunno man. You definitely kept your "dignity", but not everything always has to be about sex. Just my $.02.
