You'll like Herod. Hard to hate. Wasn't much of a fan of BR540 extrait. It smells really good but I don't think I want to smell like sickly sweet cotton candy. Looking forward to your review of Elysium. Haven't gotten my nose on that yet.

Amber Absolute is pretty decent (albeit slightly overhyped IMO) amber fragrance. It's a dark/heavy resinous vanilla and labdanum fragrance (at least the previous release was). I would recommend you sample before you buy as its not really for everyone.

Italian Cypress is an old school style woody fragrance with oakmoss. If you have smelled the old Polo Green or Halston Z-14, it is in that genre of fragrances. Also decent but sample too if you can. Def try to avoid paying $300 for 50mls of either. You should be able to get splits for less than that on Fb.

Only reason I didn't order Herod before was because I saw it compared to spicebomb alot, which I already like so never felt the need. But then I got BR540 edp which was an instant love even though to me it's a niche version of Ch men. So why not try the niche version of spicebomb too right, especially since Layton is a masterpiece and made me realise the house of PDM is worth exploring.

I was reserved about the BR extrait because I really like the airyness of the edp and the fact that it's not sweet in a cloying way. I can handle ultra male though so I think I can handle this one. We'll see!

Forgot to mention....went on a date last night with a chick i met out downtown a few weeks ago. Having drinks, chatting, going well, and she leans in one time talking then snaps back and says "is that you that smells good?" I said "i dunno, is it?" Huehuehue. Ive done that previously.

I'm a very...understated?...person in general. Like in this situation, i don't give the "youre damn right it's me" type response. Or ive heard people walk into one of the bars i go to fri/sat night and say something like "damn something smells good in here." I just smile internally on it unless they ask. And most of the time will have a similarly cheeky response that doesn't really admit to it.

Shut the front door boyos... this chit is straight fire. Totally not season-appropriate, but damn is it exquisite. They absolutely nailed the "solar notes" on this one. It smells like the sun in your face on a beautiful summer day. Projection is weapons-grade, much like the others in the series.

Viking crew. I have a decant and dont mind it at all. It's a tad bit spicy for my tastes. Def not worth retail, but again, i dont pay retail for any of my frags so thats not issue.

Depaulhifi is this also from the same people who make "this is not a blue bottle"?

Scent of the Day: Bortnikoff Bonheur


Bortnikoff has sold out of 50mls of Bonheur and Coup de Foudre, so it's time to slowly but surely start pulling the trigger on 50mls from luckyscent. To my dismay, I've learned to really really enjoy Coup de Foudre as well so I have to stock up on that one in addition to Bonheur. Fuk.

Black phantom and herod are my two favorite cold night scents right now. I also really like jazz club and zara rich warm addictive (it's a steal for like 20 bucks).
