when I shaved, I ended up with one of those old school safety razors like this:



as long as you got the quality blades, which at the time were like $15/50 - they shaved much much better than any of the typical razors Gillette and Bic put out there.

I kept the razor in a glass of vodka (keeps air and water off the blade so no rust forming) and could get a week or so out of each blade, so it was like $15 for the year.
