Egard Watches just responded to the Gillette ad

Well, I guess that's that. I'm shaving with watches from now on.

Little backstory too..
Apparently the CEO financed the ad on his own against the wishes of his family and friends.

From his twitter posts:

my name is Ilan, CEO of Egard. The only reason I attached my company to this (i made this video alone) was because I wanted it to respond in the strongest way possible and the thing that matters to me is the company I built for my father.

In another tweet he said he was going to originally release it anonymously.

I was told it would ruin my brand... I spent my own money on it not my brands. I had a four hour fight with family and friends about how bad an idea this was but I put my brand behind it because I refuse to feel censored and believe in the message. That's it.

I see where you're coming from, but nowadays no one pays attention to any of the stats that it points out. It seems like constant hammering against men for the "toxic" behavior. I think it's great that they went against the grain of what's been so "in" recently by pointing out the reality.

It's not implying they are an endangered species, just that they should be appreciated just like any other identity.

Nothing beta about appreciating and celebrating what's right in the world. Although there always is an irony of a miscer saying what's beta and what's not

It's beta that he put his company and it's reputation on the line to say what needs to be said? Have you been paying attention to the way media has been the last several years?

I do appreciate any company who stands up and supports an unpopular opinion, especially one that flies in the face of whatever PC nonsense is going on. But still.

I like watches and I’d probably never buy one from this company if it weren’t for this commercial. Now I’m seriously considering one.

Endorsed by William Shatner, fuk I’m sold.

If some child calls you a name, do you feel the need to respond or is their opinion beneath you?
Why compare huge conglomerate companies with global reach to that of a child? A child calling someone a name is not the same as perpetuating an ongoing labeling of men as degenerates. This is the straw that broke the camels back considering how much of this has gone on and the infiltration of the American Psychiatry Association, who may propose diagnosing masculine traits like Stoicism as toxic. I'd hate for future males to be medicated for being too masculine (but then again kids are medicated to become trans these days). Also the difference is that unlike with the ravages of 3rd wave feminism and the Psychiatry association, the public forum of Youtube allows for condemnation of it on the platform unlike most magazine articles, buzzfeed/news articles offer in their comments section, which is why there is a backlash as now the backlash is possible due to the media medium it's presented on. It's also a statement of consumers in their buying choices that they do not appreciate companies becoming overly political at the expense of their customer base. So it is a multifaceted situation not comparable to one child calling you a name directly, there are not many children I know who would insult me who I've been buying razors off of for a decade.
