I plan too, I'm throwing my tax return at the car and any extra money I can save throughout the year I'll be putting toward paying down the car aggressively.

I really wanted this car for a long time and I'm committed to not making any big purchases now that I have it. Just gotta budget properly.

EDIT: 65K is my starting pay, I'm getting a pay increase in February and eventually after some years my salary will top out at around 80K.

I know it was a stupid financial decision going in, to be quite honest with you I was on the fence about this particular decision for well over 3 months. At the end of the day I did it though, so the car is mine now. I can afford to make the payments, that's the most important thing, and I'm going to pay it down aggressively I assure you. My interest rate is 3.99% as well thanks to my credit. I honestly haven't been as happy as I was last night driving it home.

I have to echo the other folks in this thread to make sure that you sell your car to your Dad (transfer loan and title). Not to say that your Dad would ever not pay or give you money just to screw you over BUT stuff happens and if something happens to him or his income (loss of job, sick, accident, death, etc.) you are stuck with the payments and loan on your old car. Plan for extremes to live in bliss at normal times.

I don't have much room to talk I drive a little Scion tC. but man, that thing is not appealing to me, especially in yellow. It looks like a watermelon by its weird shape and all round edges.

Not to be a hater. That's the first time I've ever seen the interior of one. We're literally talking about a car with an interior that's 10+ years behind the curve. My mom drives a base model 2014 Sentra and the interior of that car doesn't look any nicer. And she paid 15K brand new.



That car is worth 15K brand new tops. Maybe 8k used. Exterior styling and apparently interior hasn't really changed since that model came out. You probably should have bought an older one used for cash then modded it as a second vehicle and kept your Sentra as a daily driver.



If Nissan comes out with an updated body style with a modern interior within the next 2-5 years your going to be regretting that purchase hard man.

It has the sport package, upgraded brakes, and an LSD. I can do without the navigation and infotainment but I wanted the sport package for sure.

bruh. you could of just bought the crap for pennies on the dollar off a wrecked or aftermarket. always opt for premium interior packages. you sit in your car the entire time, enjoy it. brb heated leather interior only crew.

Well you do you man, yellow basic optioned Nissan will lose $5k in depreciation every year so hope you have a super aggressive amortization or have GAP insurance.

I wont lie, if I saw that car pictured in the grey I would think it looks pretty sharp, but that isn't the stock car boyo has in thread. aftermarket parts, hood, wheels, ceramic coating making it shine and shimmer. OP would have to drop $$ to make it look that nice. Not to mention that thing is slammed, $$ in dropping that sucker and a bit of work.

35k.. that could of gotten a fully loaded 5.0 mustang which imho. stomps that thing in style. Get it used? Cheaper.

Fan's will pay 2019 prices for 2008 technology/package in that car. Crazy IMO, but whatever floats their boat. These cars are not like the S2000 which has basically begone to appreciate again. They are a lot more common. I don't see them becoming a classic or appreciating in value over time.

almost did the dame thing as OP but instead of a 370z it was with a lancer EVO/wrx sti


I was only 22 at the time but i ended up keeping my current whip and just saved instead.

in hind sight i am glad i didn't cave and bought the car, despite wanting one when i was younger my priorities/goals def changed as i got older.
