what bothered me most was them saying boys rough housing is bad...that's what boys do, do we want them to be *******s? There goes national security

Kids fighting - Good for them. They will get over it and learn from it.

Bullying isn't a good thing. However, instead of trying to bubble wrap the world you need to teach the kid to deal with the conflict.

The law treats minor fist fights like you are beating little old ladies over the head. School has punished kids for fist fights so bad now all of the bullying is like the girls do it.

When I was in high school, I gave some other kid a black eye because he got in my face. Vice principal asked him what happened, he basically said 'I was mouthing off and Beer hit me', vice principal never even bothered calling me into the office. Oh you stood up for yourself? No permanent damage? Parents aren't complaining? OK nothing to see here.

Friend of mine said what annoyed him about the Gillette ad is that violence is toxic masculinity but men need to step in and step up if a woman is being harassed.

He goes:

'We're not in one club for men, I'm not friends with every man, if I tell some guy to stop harassing a woman, he's not going to automatically say "Oh sorry bro I didn't realise I was wrong, thanks for correcting my behaviour". When I step in, I have to be prepared to fight because when he tells me to fuk off and mind my own business, I can't just fix it by buying him a soy latte.'

So which is it Gilette, do you want good guys to be aggressive and prepared for violence when necessary or feminised pacifists? Can't have it both ways.

It does not bother me at all. I don't get triggered by commericals. Gillette though is a razer company. They should stick to that. We get enough social commentary daily.

I find it funny though that Gillette has pink razers for girls and blue for guys. I mean..how dare they use gender specific colors!

Those days are over though.. I dated a woman once a few years back whose kid was being bullied. I told him to stand up for himself and they both told me the school had a strict zero tolerance for violence policy. It eventually came to a head and he didn't have any choice but to fight, and sure enough - suspensions for both of them with no questions asked.

What grade was it?

First through 8th grade, we'd get lectured, or maybe a detention.

I've worked a few schools here and there, and when the students fight, the principal wants them arrested, we then have to spend the next 20 minutes explaining why that's a bad idea.....we're talking about sixth graders...

Depends on how far he goes in asking. If he is lingering and you can visually see she is annoyed or he is following her around then maybe. It doesn’t happen that often that the guy won’t stop but I’ve seen it happen and then told her or someone one in our group to ask if she wants to chill with us until homeboy fks off.
