Kept hounding me so I said phuck it and lit it. It shot these little flaming pieces of paper in the air that came down still on fire. The backyard lit up in flames. I ran to grab the hose and it was chewed through by the dog.

By this time, no stopping it. It went under my fence and the empty lot next to me went up in flames. Fire truck got there fast and put everything out with no structure damage anywhere.
The last couple of years I've been a part of the biggest little fireworks show around here. It's a super small "town" that does crowd funding for a fireworks show every year. They usually raise $5-6K every year and spend it all on the fireworks. Get as many mortar shells as they can and set them up on trailers chained together in the middle of an old softball field. Maybe 5-8K people surround the field, parking on the side of the roads, in fields, peoples yards, etc. No real safety to speak of. All the fireworks are put together that day by a bunch of guys drinking beer and eating BBQ then pulled into place by 3 tractors. Fairly amazing no one has been hurt or no safety entity has shut it down yet.

Year before last all the shells had been glued down and I was walking along one of the trailers checking it. Someone had glued one of the boxes down sideways.... It was sort of an odd shape and, you know, beer, sooo. I really wonder what would have happened if that wasn't caught.

Never taking advice from someone from California on a controlled burn.

Was waiting for someone to mention that. Gas/diesel mixture and a road flare works great if everything is wet.

CZ 75 OMEGAS. Are they legit or not? Dealer has one and I like it. Stock for stock it has a better trigger than a 75B but I hear they can’t get as nice with tooooning.

I’d be happy with the stock trigger though.

It sounds like, if you'd leave the trigger stock, you should buy that one you checked out

Yea maybe. It’d just be a range gun though. And in that case might as well just get a Shadow 2.

Nice to have diversity though. Chit, should have got it. I’ll go in on lunch tomorrow.

You can do a lot for the DA pull weight. Otherwise no, the Omega system can’t be tuned nearly as nice as the regular 75 series trigger.
As long as you’re ok with that, go for it. Still a fine CZ.

What do I need to make the DA pull shorter on the S2?

Other than armslist and the now dead backpage, any place you guys use to list firearms to sell? Or, even just parts for firearms (not a gun itself)?

Local boards. There are at least two active local boards for sales here I know of, and probably more. I can't imagine AZ is much different.

Yea I’d just do a slightly lighter main spring and polish everything up.

I was rushing because I was supposed to be grocery shopping. Ooops.

Do a 15# main, polish everything like I showed in last thread and you’re good. I’d also put the CGW short reset kit in. All in it’s like $80 or so worth of parts and makes quite a difference. Approximately 50% reduction in reset length and you’ll be around an 8# DA pull.

Wife wants me to get a safe for the bedside table for my nightstand gun.

Are these Vaultek’s legit? They look cool. Any better options? I want something with a fingerprint reader with a key backup if possible.

Fingerprint readers are unreliable. Anybody who has had one on their phone or computer long enough, if they are honest about it, will realize you don't want your life to rely on the timely functioning of a fingerprint scanner. All they take is some sweat or water or whatever else and they might not work properly.

The vaulteks have a fingerprint reader, a number passcode, a smart key fob, and a mechanical key. So really you have what’s er option you want.

Their basic safes do without the fingerprint scanner so maybe that would do. I have a cheap one now that’s key only but don’t like it because I have to keep the key next to the safe to have it handy and that sort of defeats the purpose.

Basically, I have kids but want to keep a loaded gun by the bed so it’s to keep the kids safe now that my oldest is getting to the age that he gets in to stuff.

I’m thinking a 75 Omega Urban Grey for my next or an Urban Grey P-01. Leaning towards the P-01 for my new carry gun. I have more rounds through one of the guys at the shops P-01 than he does now. Every time I shoot it I love it more and more for its size.
