f-cking love this show, too. Thought 1 was awesome and 2 sucked. After the first episode I was hooked. I knew it went back to what worked and the depth of the character is awesome seeing it skip from time period to time period. VERY good acting from ole' dude
Agreed with this. The only thing that threw me off a bit was in ep2 when the interviewer chick in present day timeline goes on a rant about how she's super into racial bias in the workforce. Kinda seemed out of place...But I agree it was definitely an issue especially during that time era, so it's historically accurate at least.

New season is pretty good so far. They mentioned the “Crooked Spiral” earlier, so I wonder if anything else from S1 will be revisited.

I cant seem to get into it and I have been waiting for it to come out. It's slow and I'm not feeling the characters too much.. Even tried re watching first two episodes.

it is slow as fuk. I'm beginning to think I drank the true detective kool aid. I loved the first season but will admit the simple ending disappointed me. Season 2 was an overall disappointment as well. this season could be good but the pace so far is killing me.

Explain what made s1 so much faster pace by episode 3? I am convinced the people calling it slow just have ADD and can't pay attention for chit. Plus when they are sitting down at the bar in episode 3 they mention Roland getting shot at some point, so clearly it's going to get intense. Give it some damn time to tell a story.

S1 didn't pick up until the end of the 4th maybe the 5th episode. I remember this distinctly cause my wife wanted to quit watching because of the pace and I had to convince her to keep going. Not everybody likes to pay attention to everything and just like to put on the procedural CSI/NCIS stuff and this show isn't for those people.

Did you watch ep 4 preview? He's in it. There's just too many details for me to act like I know who's truly involved. Plus when they're interviewing the kid from school he mentions the two people dressed as ghosts are the ones that gave Julie the same doll they find in the woods. Assuming those two people are the same two in the sedan.

I love all the details/puzzle pieces and possible suspects they put into the show. For instance the Indian guy carrying a green bag in the last episode, with who knows what inside.

Then we have:

-the brown sedan
- the “peep hole” in the closet of the boys room
- The uncle who stayed with the family for a few days but lives in a different state

Something about that chicken plant owner and being on safari in Africa for Haloween didn't seem right.

To me it seems they will catch and blame someone for it.

That obviously doesn't sit well with purple.

Story is pointing to some child kidnapping cult .

there was no murder but rather accident.

that creepy uncle was probably molesting them.

someone knew family was toxic always fighting.

so they arranged plan for them to run away and get new identities.

season 3 is very good. miles better than season 2.

maybe pace isn't the right term. I just don't like all the time-changing that is happening every few minutes, jumping back and forth between decades. by the end of episode 3 we had a suspect, reggie ledoux, and a good sense of the type of bad guys the police would have to contend with. this past sunday was this season's 3rd episode and I have no idea where this chit is headed.

True, especially the scene with the blood on the rocks. They set it up to look like an accident, but could be a red herring.

4 episodes in and nothing special going on so far, but still intrigued.



Was hooked in season 1 episode 3's ending when they showed Reggie Ledoux wearing a gas mask and of course the GOAT scene in episode 4.
