This. They're an immensely overpriced brand that bases their entire existence on oldcels liking them just because decades old marketing gimmicks told them to. Lol @ how they're also now blaming Donald Trump for their failures. Maybe they try evolving their product beyond 1940's technology and pricing it fairly instead of crying about millenials and politics. Literally the ONLY people I've ever met who are even remotely still attacheded to that brand are people in their 50's and above.

Also sometimes chicks that drive faster cars (usually Mustang or Camaro) will try to pace you and will get on it and try and get your attention.

With that said if you are unskilled and are trying to get attention or impress females. You'll most likely crash. Tons of dumbasses get hurt trying to showboat. Also just like with lifting, you'll get more attention from younger guys/teenage boys then females.

Iron 883's are sexy. Especially the blacked out version. But they are small. They are suited for new riders, females and smaller guys.

If you are taller then 5'7 its probably too small. If you google image search 'Iron 883' every promotional picture with a rider either has a female or a guy that's likely in the 5'4-5'6 range. If the Iron 883 is your jam I've seen them lightly used on craigslist for 5-8k. Some of them with less then 10K miles.
You got me there. I just got my Motorcycle license, so no I don't ride for now.

Cruisers are an inherently inferior design that has been made obsolete by other more modern designs like modern adv bikes (eg bmw gs 1200), modern standards (eg yamaha fz10), and modern tourers (eg yamaha fjr1300), these bikes do EVERYTHING better than cruisers so why would anyone buy a cruiser today?

The one advantage I can think of that a cruiser has is a lower seat height but that would only matter if you're very short.

Just more proof I was born in the wrong era.

I'm 33. I ride for the joy of it more than anything - the fuel savings are a bonus.
Site seeing and road tripping is a lot of fun on a bike IMO. It's not for everyone and that's why I consider it a hobby.

I'll agree, though, the bikes are priced way higher than a majority can afford. I'm also a married father of 4. Just LOL at 30K for something I ride, at most, 8 months out of the year to and from work and weekends I have the time.

As for the type of motorcycle. You guys are forgetting about personal preference and riding style. Just LOL if you think a Jap bike is in direct competition simply because of the price tag. I've ridden sport bikes, vintage café racers, and cruisers. They are all different and you don't buy one over another because of price and performance. You buy one over another based on your preferences as they relate to the type of riding you intend to do. Currently, I have an American cruiser (Indian Scout) for leisurely riding, daily commuting in warmer weather, and the joy of the engine. I could have looked at Yamaha or Honda's cruisers, but they weren't offering a vintage cruiser at the time I was shopping, nor do their engines inspire me in the same way.

You think that thing is going to turn with that car tire on the back?

That's pretty much just a different manufacturer's Harley, all the bad stuff with a different logo. Granted it's got more modern components but it's still a bad idea on wheels.

I remember in 2010 when HD came out with the 883 Iron to "lure" new riders. It was such a piece of **** bike that had no power and was over priced. Anyone who bought an Iron, I feel for you. You can literally buy a used/newer Honda 1300 for a fraction of the cost of what a HD cost. And you'll be a lot happier.

As previous posters mentioned, most of you don't know what you're talking about. Not all bikes meant to take crazy turns, like muscle cars, some bikes are strictly meant for highway cruising and straight-line speed. You aren't in the canyons on a bike like that. Then again, it's all about the rider. We don't know what that bike is capable of with a good rider on it.

The ONLY reason HD should get crap is because of cost, though there could be other legit reasons. Being a car guy and having a love for classic American muscle cars, I understand why guys want a HD, it's the vintage feel. Plus they're way more comfortable over long periods

With that said, us millennials aren't buying HD because 1)We have high student loans and have to save for a house 2)HD is too expensive new. 3)Most of us are still young and want the Supersports.

Not everything is a Supersport.
You'd be surprised how well these power cruisers turn, just nothing like a sportbike.

Or maybe, just maybe we can't afford expensive ass motorcycles and have more important priorities like $35K student loans and saving up for an $150K house in cheaper areas? I want a R6, but now it's just not the time.

Urine idiot if you think that isn't a race prepped bike with a pro rider. Standard Harley has a lean angle of about 30 degrees. That thing is going like 50 degrees over. Look how high his controls are, and those aren't ape hangers, he has some kind of steering risers and skinny tires for better transitions.

Reading comprehension of piss. He's saying that HD should be designing bikes that fit the needs of the consumer, not get the consumer to buy their overpriced/underengineered trash. The younger consumer does not want to buy what HD is selling, so they either need to manufacture what they want to buy, hope the Boomers keep buying their ****, or go under.

I'm sure the V-max and xDiavel handle fine.

I'm just not a big fan of cramming a heavy 2.2 liter in a motorcycle frame and ruining most of what makes it a motorcycle.

People buy those boss hoss bikes too, but I think its just for what they look like sitting still. You have no way of applying that kind of power to the pavement. Hell my v-rod would break loose in 3rd and not go anywhere. I can't imagine wanting to spin out through all 6 gears.

Be honest, if HD gave you a whole bunch of free jackets, shirts, ect

Would you actually wear them in public ? I wouldn't.

I just don't see the allure of paying a premium for 1950s technology.

Could you see this in the car industry? Replica 1950s cars with 200hp and bias ply tires and roll up windows with no electronics or safety features selling for 100k just because they have some chrome polish and a decent paint job?

I understand people buy into the brand and I ride with a lot of weekend warrior club guys. But they don't really ride. It's more of a warm up the engine between bar stools kind of riding.
I'm with you I don't get it either. But I'm just saying what it is, I'm not saying it's right.

Funny enough, it is a thing for cars too. You've never seen modern replicas of classic cars? Or restoration cars etc?
