im around 500 on chess website. i lost 4 times in a row against some scrub. i suck at it.

what is a good fun place to learn the game? I know the game and do well against others my level who just play here and there but the few times I have tried to play online for fun I get matched up with people who seem to have studied this chit, they destroy me, and I have a bad time.

Lol same here. I pretty much always beat any friends and family I happen to play but whenever I play randoms online I get facefukked. I have no interest in studying and learning the names of openings/defenses or whatever the hell, I just enjoy playing other newbs like myself.

The best advice I was given is to read a few books about strategies etc..

Most advanced players seriously just keep forcing their moves which they know by heart
would rate/ 10

passing out is an option, quitting is not

Especially, you could play the opening game and middle game and wreck them, and then suddenly they turn into the Master Defender thinking 10 moves ahead in the end game.


having said all of that.... I'm 1240~ish on chess.com but I don't cheat.

you can cheat at any time control but i tend to play 3/1min and i cant say the last time i was sure it was an engine.

I just tried this out to see if it worked, and i absolutely mugged this brit who had a 1500 rating against my 800.
First game he lost 544 points and then the guy wants a rematch!
Brb destroyed him again and he left without even saying anything.

I kinda feel bad for taking 750 points in just 2 matches but i would lie if it didn't feel good to finally win a game, although with cheating.
