There are certainly more preferable ways of eating but consuming less than you expend will result in weight loss.
Higher protons and resistance training will reduce lbm loss
Whole foods will promote satiety and long term success

My understanding is that you don't get any of the big benefits until your doing 24 hour fasts. Like death of cancer cells and improved insulin sensitivity. If your doing 12/12 or 16/8 you're basically just delaying eating, which can definitely save calories but it's not magic.

you should really watch dr jung's vid. he basically debunks the myth of calories in vs calories out. its nearly impossible to actually measure calories in and ACTUALLY impossible to measure calories out.
calories in vs calories out is basically a theory that doesnt actually work in the real world

I tried it, but with my insulin issues, I'm prone to hypoglycemia. I tried fasting 16 hours and got lightheaded and dizzy. I was slurring my speech, and my boss got worried enough to make me drink juice. A 14/10 split is about all I can do without a severe blood sugar crash.

I actually watched that video about a month ago and it made a lot of sense - in how eating small meals many times a day is almost unbearable torture, while fasting and eating during a window is much easier. I don't know the science behind it but when I eat breakfast say at 8am I'm ravenous by 10am. If I don't eat till 1pm I'm hungry again at 3 or 4. Basically IF is a cheat code for me to keep my calories down.
I'll rep you later for the vid because it helps prospective cutters but weight loss is not complicated, you are doing your peers a disservice by saying so.

I do IF because otherwise I’ll 100% cheat on my diet lmao.
I’ll have 500 cals around 1pm and then 1500 cals around 7-8pm and then start my fast.
Although I do drink coffee with some skim milk during the mornings so ...

If you fluctuate between burning 2200 calories a day and 3200 every day and you "track" that you are eating 2400 calories per day (but in reality are probably anywhere from 2200-2600) you will be better off than being the average North American who just yolo's their health away.
Didn't that Doctor also recommend a 5 day fast for health benefits? I'm sure he's correct but in reality most people will not be able to do that even if they had an interest in doing so.
IF is best used to just control the amount you are eating per day. To get benefits beyond that you will really have to dedicate yourself to fasting and even people who are dedicated to fitness will not have an interest in multi day fasts, let alone the general public.

There is absolutely no evidence that there is a single "fat loss" benefit.
There might be hormonal and other health benefits, but in terms of fat loss, no.
The only 100% proven benefit is "convenience" for some people, who find it easier to be in a deficit if they can eat all their calories in a short period of time. But I don't know if that's ideal in terms of muscle protein synthesis.

People are more sedentary than ever, and calorie dense food is everywhere. Is this something that really needs to be explained?
