media needs to slow their roll in general. everyone right now is prioritizing quantity and speed over quality.

You’re not wrong in a sense but also I don’t know anyone who likes when they cover “breaking news” for 5 hours straight with no new details. It’s usually within all that dead time they spin **** when it shouldn’t be.

Agreed, but as information speed increases the media has decided it would rather try to keep up and stay somewhat relevant instead of risk being left behind. Having egg on their face is collateral damage they’re willing to take....well, as long as it is a narrative they want to push. Once they report the incident people will take to social media and other outlets to discuss it. So instead of letting that happen as they wait for more facts to emerge they join in with the narrative. And it doesn’t really matter(to an extent) how often their wrong because the attention span of the population is so short. Hell, the incident discussed in this thread happened less than a week(pretty sure that’s right) after the smiling teenager was painted as the next David Duke. Did anyone learn to wait for facts? Hopefully some did, but it’s obvious that the mobs were out again in full force.
