Ps: I finished the bobbby fischer chess book but it only taught me how to checkmate.
Any recommendations on books about openings?

I wouldn’t stress openings too much. Learn the basic ideas of some you enjoy but focus a lot on tactics and endgames.

You should be doing easy tactics on your phone “chess tactics pro” and books should be beginner books until you reach 2100, like Susan Polgars world champions guide to chess and Jeremy Silmans complete book of chess strategy. Do NOT buy opening books. If you’re dying to know more about openings watch youtube videos.
