A bull would destroy a bear though.

EDIT: Just realized it said predator. I think a Kodiak bear is it.

A rhino. The largest bear is on average still much smaller than a rhino. A rhino’s horn can pierce the metal on a car door, much tougher than the flesh on a bear. A bear hitting a rhino with its claws wouldn’t do enough damage to spot it hit, if it does any real harm at all, and its powerful jaws will only do anything if bites around the neck, which it’s not going to since if goes anywhere near the front of the rhino it will get gored or trampled.


A hippopotamus. Much like a bear it is absolutely cute until it shows its teeth. Slightly larger than a rhino, it has a stronger bite than a bear that will drive its tusks right into bear’s skeleton and crush it. Like the rhino it is too big for the bear have a reasonable chance of killing.


An elephant. This should go without saying. The elephant is more than ten times the size of a bear. They have been known to destroy cars and have been reported killing rhinos. If a bear were pit against an elephant all it could do is run, fighting back would be like attacking a trying to attack a tree.


A Nile or Saltwater crocodile. They are larger than a bear and have the strongest jaws in the world. They kill prey larger than the a bear so if they did bite down it they would tear it pieces.

Biggest polar bear > biggest kodiak.

Exactly. A bear destroys 99% of land animals. Not sure if they ever pitted one against an elephant, hippo or rhino though.

Thick fur, covering a thick hide, covering a layer of fat, covering dense muscle, over a solid bone structure.

Polar bears weigh a lot more. Polar is the most alpha land predator.

Hippos are the most alpha creatures on the planet in terms of general aggression and fierceness. Adult elephants and rhinos are also very alpha. An adult male elephant would completely dumpster a polar bear.

I'd say, as is kind of obvious by the physics of it, angry adult male elephants are the most powerful and dangerous living land creatures. The fattest elephant recorded was 24,000 lb. A single trunk grab, a charge, a stomp, or a headbutt would send a kodiak flying. A tusk stab would immediately crush the bear's skeleton.

Just lol if u think a single dog could ever take a bear. Dogs are pack scavengers and small game hunters. Their predecessors, wolves, know not to fuk with bears. They chase them away from kills and defend territory, but in a fight to the death, wolves have to cheat and gang up to beat a bear.

Bears also generally respect wolves, viewing them as more trouble than they are worth. Bears do everything they can to avoid unnecessary injury, and will almost always prefer to go for fish or some small game unless angered or threatened in some way.
