After knowing what's in this bill. I would honestly rather have no wall than for him to sign this. This bill is extremely counter-productive in what trump was aiming for.
Read 224(a)This makes the anchor baby issue look insignificant in comparison holy ****.

That is the meeting. From the article:

"A short time later, Mr. Schumer called the president, the person said, but the conversation drove the pair even further apart. The immigration concessions from Democrats were not conservative enough, Mr. Trump told Mr. Schumer. The president said he needed more border security measures as well as more enforcement of illegal immigration in parts of the country far from the border.

As the evening wore on, Mr. Schumer got a call from Mr. Kelly that dashed all hopes for a Trump-Schumer deal before the shutdown deadline of midnight. Mr. Kelly, a hard-liner on immigration, the person familiar with the call said, outlined a long list of White House objections to the deal."

Going to start negging and banning people who have to toss around insults, including terms like libtards, trumptards, cucks or whatever.

If you lack the intelligence to debate topics (which most of you know nothing about except what you read a 10 second tweet on) without insults, then you can't have nice things.

You know this sub forum wouldn't nearly be as entertaining to read if 95% of the liberal posters get banned.

On Friday afternoon, when Mr. Schumer was back on Capitol Hill, Mr. Trump called Mr. Schumer, a person familiar with the call said, and told him thathe understood they had agreed on a three-week spending deal, not three or four days.Mr. Schumer told the president, the person said, thatDemocrats would oppose a three-week measurebecause they saw it as a delaying tactic.
How can a deal have been reached if the terms of the deal weren't even initially agreed upon? The bold indicates that Trump was on board for the most part, but that in the end democrats opposed the bill.

Whatever happened to The El Chapo Act? Not a die hard Trump supporter, but that seemed like a potentially brilliant move. Wouldn't have to take money away from popular government programs and he could say that Mexico is literally paying for his wall, lol

I think there are other eyeballs on El Chapo's money.

At this point it's pretty clear it's not about the money. Most of our senators and congressmen want the illegals here. Joe Biden even said it himself. Couldn't be more clear. And it's clear in the bill that both the senate and congress just signed.

Trump apparently doesn’t realize how much sway he has over his base.

Should’ve just signed the first bill, avoided the shutdown, and told his supporters the wall is already being built anyway.

They already believe he had the biggliest inauguration, climate change is a hoax, North Korea has been solved, an investigation that’s indicted half his campaign is a witch hunt, etc etc etc

What’s one more lie on top of this?

If Trump calls a national emergency, it wouldn't be inappropriate. Obama declared emergencies for ****lian pirates (EO 13536), Muammar Gaddaffi (EO 13566), swine flu (Proc 8443), Burundi leaders (EO 13712), and the Mexican Los Zetas drug cartel (EO13581). Four of those are still in effect.

He already has “Finish the wall” banners up at his rallies (why is he still having these again?), might as well just tell his base the wall is done at this point and they’ll believe it.

Politicians are spineless. They always do this dumb ****. Wait until the last possible moment and then release some bloated bill that has implications that go way beyond the immediate problem. And then they don't really care about the country, and only care about getting elected, so they don't want to be the one that held things up, so they vote based on some 5 line summary an intern typed up.

I still need to read it, but if the Chicken Littles are correct about some of the details I've seen, Trump needs to declare a national emergency after and needs it to be successful or he dropped the ball bigly on this whole thing.

You compare illegals coming to this country with law abiding gun owners who simply want to protect their families? You want to see law enforcement officers killed in gun fights with militia members simply because Democrats want to control every bit of lour lives?

You want to offer everyone, even if they have contributed notbhing free healthcare? You want the Govt to force me to pay mofre every month for 3rd world style healthcare?

"Build the Wall" was just a circlejerk slogan to rile up rally crowds. There was never a legitimate plan for this. This is only happening to appease a dwindling base.

You and I both know there will never be a national emergency re guns. Ever.

AND even if somehow in some alternate universe it were to happen, then the amount of lives lost would be astronomical.
