Boring life and subpar intelligence are part of it. IDK. I'm still trying to figure out the ancient alien people.

It's like that Tom Delonge guy who left his rockin' successful band to search for "aliens" ... he's just being used, like a pawn in a greater game funded by the government, CIA, area 51, etc. Same thing can be said for those backwater hillbillies running around looking for Bigfoot.

Discovery channel is just making a buck off of their stupidity in the filming process. It's all entertainment for most people, but those who actually search and dedicate their lives to that nonsense are losers.
I agree with your conclusion but some of these retards make huge money.

Crazy we can land rovers on the moon and mars, but apparently can't find a single skeleton/body of a big foot, yet we have dinosaurs in museums.
Don't forget elvis people see him a lot.

The part I don't get is why believe so much in something that's not proven.

Why not just leave it at speculation until there is proof so you don't come of as a functioning moron?

What's wrong with that?

Reminds me of these morons that argue about a sports game like they know exactly what's going to happen before the games even played.

Inter-dimensional too.

With that said, to answer OPs question - mysterious stuff is interesting to think about and it never hurts to keep an open mind. I think it's rather arrogant to think humanity has everything figured out, and I tend to be on the side that there is probably a lot of stuff going on that would violate most peoples current idea/paradigm of "reality" (which I think we most likely only have a very rudimentary understanding of at best).

Ultimately, we don't know and I think its hubris for one to insist that they do.

Look at what's happening with the YETI myth and you can see what the bigfoot thing is all about. Straight out lies or misidentification.

well..when millions of people over time swear they have seen "something" you kind of have to start thinking outside the box. Is there "something" out there? Very well could be. Why not? I tend to believe in alien life over bigfoot more.BUT im open to most things like that.

Absolutely any rational person has an open mind but I think we are talking about the people who go around claiming it's 100% true and will do anything to make you believe it.

The same reason people think UFOs have abducted them or why people believe in anything man-created that they have never seen. Gullibility, a shallow life so they want to cling to something that seems otherworldly and of course low intelligence.

Bigfoot (Gigantopithecus) actually lived on earth alongside humans, thus as I said before, the thought of remote numbers living in the wild isn't as far-fetched.
While it is theoretically possible, a great ape would not be that hard to find. There are lots of endangered species with 50-100 members, which are observed well. If there were too few Bigfoots out there, they would just reach critical population size and die out.

What do you think makes people believe in these sort of things?
Big Foot was a native American belief. The amazing thing is that the same belief exists in Asia with the Yeti which has the same story. So, I guess in the west it's a legend that existed for probably over ten thousand years.

Meanwhile, there were some convincing sightings and that was decades ago before satellites mapped everything and the US still had plenty of endless forest. Also, ideas about evolution make it seem weird that humans are just here with no middle type of being in existence. Many thought bigfoot might be a "missing link" between ape and human, which makes a kind of sense. You'd think there'd be something like that somewhere, but there never has been.

So, it's a mix of Native American spiritual beliefs and science.

People just like to believe chit. It would be cool to think Bigfoot exists, or aliens. Just like we would all love to have a Jurassic park for real.

When i was a teenager i saw a massive blue ball of light sitting above a car that was stopped on a road. It flew right at the car we were in and over the top and behind a hill. The two people i was with also saw it. Do i think it was aliens? Nope, it was probably ball lightning or some other phenomenon.

A few years later i started getting sleep paralysis which would start with me seeing a mental image of a UFO sitting in the sky outside my house and then the sleep paralysis fear would set in and a grey alien (the ones you always see with the big head and black eyes) would come into my room and i had a massive sense of dread. Do i think i was abducted by aliens or some chit? Nope...

People just see something weird in the distance and the mind fills in the blanks and suddenly that flash of fur from a deer becomes bigfoot.

I used to be really into cryptids. It's fun to think that something like that might exist, even though the evidence is scant

Discovery Channel idea: Finding God. Two guys -- Anthomy Bourdain, no-nonsense but respectful types -- travel across the world in search of God. One day, they find themselves in a village in India; the next, ingesting peyote with Native Americans.

Considering 'sightings' have been reported all over the country the bigfeet would have to have a large population. Yet not one body has been produced and not one has ever been hit by a car or something.

Even if they have a small migratory population, they'd be crossing populated areas and major highways to get to one end of the country to the other.

If bigfeet existed, they'd be hit by cars just like deer. Or at least caught on game cams. Mountain lions are fairly rare but they are captured on cameras all the time.

bigfoot definitely does not exist. there's no ****in way otherwise we'd have some quality pictures already. instead of the ****ty pic with the dude in the gorilla costume. he definitely would not look like a gorilla either. and also the natives have been living here before us, before we had concrete cities and ****, they should know of this beast but they don't.

the only cryptids that could possibly exist are the ones in the ocean and lakes. ogopogo and the lochness monster most likely have existed but probably are extinct now

people believe in em because we love to imagine that there are mysterious wonders in life

Dinosaurs existed: There are MANY complete skeletons of many species.

Bigfoot doesn't exist: If Bigfoot was being "seen" constantly, there would be tangible evidence of one. In life, things happen. If Bigfoot was within range of people, somewhere in this same physical vicinity a random Bigfoot would get a heart attack, break its ankle on a rock, run a tree branch through its eye and into its brain, get its head stuck in barbed wire, etc. Things like this happen to people and to animals all the time. Humans would have come across MANY Bigfeet by now. Sorry.
