Spanish music has been climbing too in the pop genre so that and electronic might have a big break

More people listen to electronic than it’s given credit for so once it can have a mainstream sound I’m sure it’ll take over as well

Lmao op is clearly a ****ocyte that can’t dance. I have found myself teaching guys to dance at a club cause it’s so pitiful how they don’t know how to move to the beat of the music. And this is only because the girl that I’m with has 3 other girl friends that want to dance with other guys. Easiest way to get bag a girl is dancing. Hip hop and reggaeton dominate because they are music that 2 people can dance with intimately.

A part of the "division" today is in part due to some of the folks who grew up during the 90s heavy black culture emphasis in the media who are in their 30s/early 40s today. The 90s were the golden age for hip hop. In the 90s it was cool to be black and it was lame to be white.

Today's music in that genre is what I call Grey's Anatomy music. It is flavored in a way that you could play it as background music on a TV show or movie.

^^Yoruba brah is correct. I don't know about a "black" golden age. Unless OP is incorrectly using both words to represent the music genre?

Black problems are covered more, more sympathy given, more attention given, more leeway given for toxic behavior etc

Obv the reality of the sub culture in low income areas isn’t good in any way but we don’t idolize low income white/ Spanish/ w/e people culture in the same way. White people are just jock riding African American culture for no reason and it’s annoying dealing with double standards involved. As always though it’s not as prevalent irl if youre not near the social groups that think that way but it’s weird that it’s popularized in the way that it is


Ironic example:

I can listen to hip hop talking about shooting up a neighborhood and it’s considered normal

I can’t listen to metal talking about bashing someones head in without being an aggressive school shooter

Those kinds of weird things where one culture can idolize negative behavior and be praised while another is looked down upon for identical concepts

I can’t listen to metal talking about bashing someones head in without being an aggressive school shooter

Those kinds of weird things where one culture can idolize negative behavior and be praised while another is looked down upon for identical concepts
I think a better example would be that a rapper can call women hoes, preach misogyny and use the term "*******" and be praised, while the movies/tv shows stereotype poor white trash as being misogynistic/bigoted. Same with Muslims. Christians are derided for not making cakes for homosexuals, yet Muslims are applauded for literally murdering homosexuals.
