from people I know that use them, 1 supposedly prevents you from breathing out as far and makes you learn to keep your stomach contracted/tighter all day so it helps teach you to control your stomach with it off, 2 when you get to a point where you are tightening the soul out of yourself it can change the shape of your midsection for a couple days after taking it off, 3 prevents you from strengthening your core and causing any hypertrophy and keeping your waist slimmer

i've never tried it and can't attest to it but everyone that uses one swears on their life they work

that's the point they are so tight it's painful/borderline impossible to breathe using your diaphragm so you have to stay half flexed/sucked in to even wear the damn things.

I never used them when I competed in female bb and I've always had a thick waist. In bb they didn't care as much compared to female physique and figure.

Those classes didn't exist when I started so I had no choice LOL!

I did try figure a few times though when it came around. Always got in the top 5 but ended up middle of the pack. The judges told me to go back to bb so I did.

the compound lift thing is debated but i think it's a chicken or the egg thing where elite competitors are used as examples for them causing a wider midsection when the naturally wide waist is what helped them get to elite tier to begin with. And if you went from an untrained midsection to developed it'd make sense for it to thicken up a little, but either way you're still beautiful to me babe
