OP- how much do you make, really?
There's a big difference between working 40 hours a week making $100k and being bored, and working 50 hours a week earning $65k and being bored.

I've grown to hate every job I ever had.
Even if it was an activity I somewhat enjoyed, having some ******* manager or boss always ruined it.
The ONLY thing I am interested in is getting financial freedom so I don't have to answer to anybody.

Hell, there are truck drivers who LOVE driving, love traveling, love the isolation etc... and they wholeheartedly enjoy their jobs. There's even a guy on this thread who loves being an IT manager because he's passionate about what he does. I can't speak to his level of his enjoyment but he sounded rather pleased and satisfied.
I'd work for free if I didn't need the money. But since that isn't possible at this time, I want to enjoy what I'm doing while earning that dough.

you had this wtf moment not long ago, if you are serious i suggest you make a very detailed plan of what you want to do to correct this situation.

I love my job, coworkers are cool, great benefits but I want to grow faster than the field I’m in allows. But sometimes I feel like I can just take off and figure **** out as it comes.

My end goal with the shop was to turn it into a nonprofit so I could focus on other business ventures. I was going to have criminals who are trying to reintegrate themselves into the community run the show for me. I'd teach them everything, hold classes and basically give them a skill-set they could use if they chose to make baking a career of theirs.
I couldn't get that far because turning businesses into a nonprofit and getting funding for a nonprofit is absolutely insane. You need grant writers, attorney's, cpa's, public funding, an executive board, charitable events to obtain funding etc.. There is so much involved that it didn't seem feasible at the time. Kind of wish I stuck with it but burned myself out.
I'm also not happy with my living situation. I have a house in another state that my wife and I were living in, wife wasn't happy with the state and she dropped a bomb on me and told me she was moving away to be closer to family and so she could work. There is promise for advancing her career with the company but my situation or position never seemed considered. Granted, I was not happy at the current place of employment but that employer wasn't the "be all, end all". I wanted to go back to school and get my masters and she told me wasn't waiting around for me to finish. She insisted the move was the best for the both of us.
She departed, I followed a few months later while leaving my home behind (currently renting it out) and my home state so we could live in an apartment and work these chitty unfulfilling jobs. The new state has tons of people, it's expensive as chit to live here and I'm working a job that's similar to what I was doing back home. I recently started having a lot of resentment about what has transpired over the past 2 years and it's been driving me bat chit crazy; hence thedear diaryramblings, but I'm happy to have this channel to air out my dirty laundry.
I'm growing to the point of returning to my home state to finish what I wanted too and reconvening with her at a later date. I feel like I have unfinished business and it's been placed on hold so we could live her dream. She's not an ogre, she's just dumb about certain things. I've hinted at this with my wife and she got incredibly upset, which is expected but damn, sometimes you gotta do chit for yourself. Could put serious strain the marriage; however, resentment does the same exact thing.
Sorry for the ghettysburg address, MISC. Gots a lot on mah mind.

This is extremely common obviously. I was a teacher for a brief time many years back. After going to college for that degree I quickly realized that the job was completely unfulfilling and something that I couldnt do long term. I was also making 30k which in NJ is next to nothing. By the end of the second year I resigned and never looked back. I'm 10 years into a high paying tradie job that's ok. I'm not passionate about it, but I dont hate it either. In the next 5 to 10 years, depending on many factors, I will probably change jobs within the company and do something a little less physical and make a little less.
Some people have jobs or careers that they love and pay really well. Others have jobs they are passionate about, but maybe dont make what they'd like. The last group have jobs/careers that pay well, but they dont have much passion for it. I put myself in the last group. The work is ok, the pay is good, and you seek fulfillment in other areas of your life.
We're all going to make it.

My hopes is to get the best of both worlds -- more rewarding(salary) and self-fulfilling work. To obtain that level I'll need to work my ass off; however, my energy expense will be towards something I'm passionate about and it will be towards something that I can feel good about.
Currently, I leave at 4:30 feeling drained and mentally exhausted.. and for what? A decent salary and benefits?? I'm amazing at my job but it's dull, monotonous and boring and somewhat rewarding.. but for the wrong reasons.

If you're unhappy when you have no money, you're going to be unhappy when you have money. Don't be fooled by the temporary rush of having money. Buying cars, property, clothes, jewelry and toys gets old after a while. And you're back to where you started.

Id encourage OP to build up a good savings and to explore other careers or businesses, or to get a side hustle going.
Saturday was my last day at my former job I had been at for almost five years. It was weird. kind of eery. I gave my last radio-call, 4H-40 37, end of watch. now Im a civilian, who has to get a CCW to carry. Idk. But I knew the time was right. Too many other, broader options on the horizon. No more worrying about all the things that did/could happen on the job.
All that to say, you only live once and you owe it to your existence to see what else inspires you.

In order to start that new journey, I'll need to leave my wife for a bit and go back home to finish my masters. I'm essentially giving up easy street for some off-road terrain. Have no clue how it will impact the marriage; however, the whole reason I'm writing these passages is because I followed her and have had regretted it ever since. I literally left a job I hated to follow her.. just to end up in the same type of role doing the same kind of chit. Definitely have some underlying resentment here.

It's tough, and I envy people who were able to know what they wanted to do at an early age and they were able to be fulfilled by doing it. I have an offer letter for a job that I have always considered to be in my mind my "dream job".. but my biggest worry is that once I start doing it, I'll feel basically the same as I felt at a job I dislike now.
Everyone has BS in their job that they have to go through, but I've figured out that for me the biggest components in how I feel about my job are --
1) Do I feel a sense of accomplishment after a days work.. do I feel like what I did actually matters
2) Work/Life balance
3) $$
Top 3 in that order.

I wish I would have finished my master's earlier instead of playing house. I put school off, continued working a dead-end job and got married. The marriage thing fooked everything up for me because I focused more on the marriage than bettering myself- thinking with my wang per-say and thinking I was doing what a husband was supposed to do. It's my fault because I allowed myself to become trapped in the 9 to 5 grind and I didn't know any better. I tried going to school, running a business, working full-time at another job and supporting my wife; it just became too much.
Moving 6 years forward: I've come to the realization that this dead-end career provides: 1)security -- which has been known since day 1. 2) The same moving parts -- everything about this career path is virtually the same, the only thing that differs is the scenery. 3) I haven't done chit about changing myself and now I truly have to move some mountains to get where I want to be. Sounds selfish as F but I need to focus on me now.

didn't know you were married OP.
I can understand more why your situation is so complex.
From the sounds of it your wife loves you enough to maintain the long distance relationship, however it's a damn shame she isn't really there to support you in your endeavors.
from the way i read your response it sounds like you already know the path your wife is taking is more of a hindrance than a progression to life(despite her disagreeing with you),
and you going your alternative route might be what you you need to progress in your own endeavors. Do you have kids as well? And if you succeed will your wife still celebrate that success with you?
or how will the dynamics of your relationship change when you guys go separate ways?
what is it you want out of life? I encourage you to simplify your answer as much as you can.

Spoiler!

Take the risk OP. The reason you feel like you do is evidence that you need to change.
Humans aren't meant to follow the same routine year after year. We long for unknown lands and new experiences.
Growing comfortable with your situation is a major red flag that something isn't quite right.
If all else fails you can return to a similar role knowing you explored a different path and attempted something new.
You're going to make it!
