I thought I was going to witness another Hamill moment. Smith got all my respect for not taking the easy way out

My last fight was 13 months ago in London, Johnnie Walker fought on the same card, came out as a stripper.

BREAKING: I'm told UFC has already informed Colby Covington he will receive the first shot against newly crowned champion Kamaru Usman. No date or venue for you yet, but Covington will get the shot.

Jones reminds me of the over the top fake compulsive liar sociopath we all know.

Still had smith in a trance after those bows to the head.

Smith showed up to be a punching bag and to cross "survive 5 rounds against defending champ" off the bucket list. Nobody knows what his game plan was, he was nowhere close on points even after those -2 for Jones (props to Smith for not being a DQ bitch, but still). He could've at least entertained the audience and do what Sonnen did against Fedor, which is fight like a madman in a street brawl throwing all kinds of crazy chit and hope to land a right punch at the right moment - if you get punished for that then oh well, would've lost by decision anyway so why not at least have some fun and give it a try...

Best part of the night was the expression on woodleys face after he got upper cutted hard right around the time he realized he’s about to probably lose the fight.

I thought the best part was Colby Covington in his custom tee and MAGA hat.

There are exceptions but you know what I’m talking about bro. The entertainment value has gone down quite a bit in the ufc.

Regardless if you think it was a bad stoppage he beat a former champ in the UFC for his first debut.

man askrens performance has me really bummed. He didn’t look great, even before he got dropped on his head and pounded on. Is he top level? I do think it was a legit stoppage too, but I feel there’s something missing.

you've never seen askren fight before until today i take it?

dude has garbage standup but his wrestling is world class. robbie dumped him on his head and he managed to compose himself and get control of robbie.. THAT was rather impressive.

that might be the first exciting ben askren fight in forever.

He really needs to expand on his overall game, I cant see his gap in wrestling get him to the top to stay and defend

More like 15-17%.

I like Robbie's attitude, but dude looked out until Dean picked his arm up. He keeps saying he was nowhere near out, but no one's arm would just flop like that if they didn't briefly go out.

I’ve watched his bellator fights and was hoping he had added more.

Here’s what I’m thinking:

Ben is testament to how far being great at just (what I’d call) “traditional” wrestling will take you in the UFC. The dude is a top tier wrestler. But to me, he looks so slow and mechanical while standing. There’s sooo much risk involved with the way he tries to get you down.

I can see RDA, Covington, and even til giving him big problems. Also, I don’t think he has anything on Marty.

However, I actually like askren and hope I’m wrong.

Gotta love these ****ing suits for the commission or whoever this is speaking right now, doesn't even know the ****ing events of the fight. Robbie's arm fell limp on its own, the Dean held it up and let go and Robbie had some movement. Totally opposite of what this dip**** is actually saying in the press conference.
