It's not rare to get out of college and immediately get a job that can support a family... Brb can support a family on 35-40K.

Im a young guy so I can relate to a lot of young peoples struggle in modern day society but don’t be fooled by the sob stories that they can’t find a job or dont have money. In the age of information, being ignorant is a choice. These people should have done their research before signing up for University. Plenty of trades and other professions are having a hard time filling jobs because everybody wants an easy office job where they make 100k sitting around all day.

I opted out of pursuing university studies and decided to pursue Law Enforcement knowing that they needed a lot of people. I chased an opportunity and not some dreams that I had of becoming a lawyer knowing that it’s extremely competitive to even land a job in that field. If these people had avoided college and decided to pursue jobs that people deem less attractive or less noble such as firefighting, LEO, Truck drivers, electrician, plumbers, etc people would have more money to buy their own house and start a family. Instead they took out loans to pursue a higher education and are now bitter that people that opted out are happier and have their own house while they are working cushy office jobs paying off their student loan debts and binge drinking their stress away.

Sucks to be them. Ignorance is one dangerous thing in life.

The **** I see my 21 year old sister and her friends spend their money on is insane. She's always bitching about being broke while making $17/hr and living in an area with a median home cost of $260k. Somehow she still manages to be broke all the time. She bought a 2018 Rav 4 last year... She had a 2011 Honda Accord that ran just fine that was costing her like $100/mo. Now shes paying like $350. This is why millennials are broke. Yes a lot of these things didn't exist during the boomer generation, they weren't all walking around with massive phone bills, huge car payments, etc. I get a cellphone is a 'necessity' but there are ways to do it cheaper. Millennials seem to be about instant gratification and I blame that on our parents.

Millenials living in LA with massive cost of living and you can't afford it? then ****ing leave. Move somewhere cheaper. If you don't have the resume to support living/working in the area, then you need to get out to somewhere you can flourish.

Buddy of mine makes 78k / year as an HVAC tech. Last I checked you don't need college for that, and 78k is more than enough to buy a house and raise a family on provided you don't buy s 50k car or something dumb as ****. Lots of job openings in careers like this. Stop complaining and do something about your life if you're unhappy.

This. I don't think a lot of these people realize you can work your way up in trades and make great money while doing minimal work. One of my good friends just turned 30, is a Electrician for a big HVAC firm that does industrial complexes. He just got promoted to a project manager, and now he works from home like 2-3 days a week programming hvac systems remotely. He's in the field the other 2-3 days a week and its really just overseeing things/checking in on the project. He is making 6 figures now in a city where the avg income of a resident here is $23k.

It's not a one or the other situation. It's a combination of factors. On one hand, yes, in general millennials are more entitled and useless than previous generations. But there is also increased job insecurity, inflated housing costs, and stagnant wages/salaries that have not kept up with the cost of living. Combine all of that with a snowflake victim mentality and you have a recipe for disaster.

As for the millennials getting useless degrees, that has already been debunked. And what would happen if everyone really started getting STEM degrees? That engineering job isn't going to pay so well when there thousands of people competing for it.
