Shot my shot at gym crush (srs)

So we've been going to the gym around same time for months and she's very pretty, good body, solid. She has her headphones in, gets work done and is focused.


I was finishing legs with calves and she ended up coming to my area, this was the best opportunity i will ever have to say hi to her casually so this is how it went.

She was putting away her weights after her 3 sets of hip thrusts (hnng) and i was putting my weights away after doing calf raises

Me: I tap my ear signaling to take your headphones off
Her: takes them off
Me: Hey i just wanted to say i come here at this time alot and i always see you and it would be nice to know your name
Her: Hey its stacey
Me: Nice ti finally meet you my names jeff *shakes hand* i was going to say hi earlier but you always looked so focused and didnt want to bother you
her: oh haha thank you, jeff

... talk about how long shes been training if she wants to compete ...
... i say i was going to compete first year but didnt want to commit to the diet etc..
.. I end convo saying well it nice talking enjoy your work out she says yeah nice talking ...


i never cold approach at the gym i usually always reply on dating apps so this is new.


will try to talk to her when she's in again and this time hopefully not spill my spaghetti

you should really just be upfront. your convo should have ended with you asking her to continue it at a bar/restaurant.

be direct the first time you talk to a chick that you are interested in, it will keep her in the mindset of 'oh, this guy is interested in me' and not 'oh he's just a friendly guy, he'd make a great talking buddy at this spot.'

OP you did good talking to her boldly.

Next time you see her, do the same thing, tell her to take her ear plugs off, say "stacey, im doing X, you wanna come" or "stacy, im eating at X, you wanna come".

you have to ask her out to do something to get to know her outside of the gym setting.

but you have to ask ASAP. if not she will not trust you and you will look creepy. don't worry about looking creepy and transparent about asking her out directly. women like that. women love honest transparent men. they hate cowards and sneaky chit. so far you have shown you have balls. not capitalize on this momentum OP.

Good job op. I want to do the same exact thing with this gym crush of mine lol. Her and I always make eye contact and every time I see her and she goes to the machine closest to where I’m at. I haven’t approached cause she always has her headphones on and when she’s done with her set, she’s on her phone..

its a weekday at like 9-10pm how realistic is it that we would go out after and get food/drinks? i would suggest going out on the weekend and if she says yes i get her number?

Congrats on harassing a girl at the gym making it awkward for her every time she sees you in the future. She's probably looking for another gym right now. Thanks a lot for creeping out another woman and making it harder for the rest of us normal people. The gym isn't the time or place for that sheit. Have some respect for others. Nobody wants to be bothered by homeless people begging and harassing when they're just trying to go about their business. Same thing with women at the gym. I swear this autistic "pick up artist" sheit made everything harder for normal people around 2012-2013 after the thousands of social retards were let loose and started harassing random women that showed no interest and are so socially retarded they can't understand how they're making women feel when they harass them.

OP, don't worry about what some of these ppl here are saying.

you had the balls to approach. could you have been more smooth, sure, buts that's with everything. Hindsight 20/20.

Main thing is you put yourself out there, and the next interaction you can escalate to eating together, conversation and then her #.

you can now walk up to her and say

"yo stacey, take the phones off, what are you listening to? oh really. i like that band, type of music too. hey there this spot at X that plays some good music, we can grab some drinks there"

OR...

"yo stacey, whats good, let me holla at you quick. you like sushi/paleo/atkins/fructarian diet, im going to X restaurant, want to come?
