28 years old and never talked to a girl...

Sup guys.

Basically I'm 28 years old and have never talked to a girl before. I'm a virgin needless to say and am wondering if anybody here has any advice or was in a similar situation and managed to overcome it.

I'm getting a bit worried as I am getting close to 30 and this certainly is not normal. I just don't know what to do to break out of my shyness and social anxiety with girls. I fear rejection more than anything else at this point and girls seem to be extremely cruel and unforgiving to guys who don't have the typical extroverted macho alpha male personality.

I'm in decent shape, 6'1, 190 lbs around 12 percent body fat. Hasn't really helped though, I'm still invisible and can't socialize.

I don't know much about women either, but they say fear of rejection causes 99% of girl problems (or so i've heard). Just don't worry so much about what they think of you and don't take yourself too seriously.

There's nothing magical about talking to girls, all misc jokes aside.

If you feel nervous because you put a girl on a pedestal that's your fault. Remember any time you put someone on a pedestal, they will be looking down at you.

Talk to a girl not like "I hope she likes me and I hope I don't get rejected etc" but instead have a different mentality that you are just trying to find out if she's a scumbag so that YOU can reject her.

If a girl isn't into you it's not a life ending disaster, some girls just won't like you so what, you should give a girl every opportunity to not be into you and you'll save a lot of time and eventually find some girls that do like you, but it's not a big deal.

Regardless, no woman is going to be mean if they reject you. Most of them will just say they have a boyfriend or something. Its not a big deal. Believe it or not, women aren't as cruel as the misc likes to paint. They don't like confrontation just as you don't want embarassment. Maybe if you were in middle school you'd get the "ewww" comments, but adult women aren't mean about it, and are generally polite.

Start talking to women. As friends first. A huge issue with people who are virgins is that they have that "label" and it puts a lot of pressure on them, sexual pressure. Because of this, they'll often come off as desperate or awkward which is what turns women off. Talk to them like you would anyone else man.

I'm trying to pinpoint exactly who came up with the idea that being a virgin is somehow horrible. Is this mainly a western thing? I guess Eastern Europeans typically don't worry about stuff like that as much. Actually, the biggest thing is whether or not you are married by 30. That's typically the fear over here. More so for women, though. To them, a real man is not someone who sticks his dink into some p00n but someone who is responsible and can take care of himself.

AMEN! At last someone with some sense. The idea that bangging chicks is the ultimate life goal is some western cancer idea that generates a lot of frustration, degenerates and sloots. You should be more focused on having a good job, decent situation, building a family around values and morals. There is nothing wrong on being virgin if it means waiting for the right person to build a family with.
