And the Mueller investigation wasn't just for a simple yes/no should we decide to prosecute, etc. There was also a counter-intelligence component to it that doesn't necessarily deal with criminal prosecution.

All assumptions...conjecture...none of this is based on anything.

I'm not going down the conspiracy rabbit hole with you. Sorry.
So the people like brennan and Schiff and others that said they had evidence of collusion and that indictments were coming weren't peddling a conspiracy, all of the republicans that said the entire investigation was a sham, along with all of the acquired testimony showing lies, inconsistencies, complete departures from normal standards and chain of command, etc. is a conspiracy?

The Barr summary of the Mueller report said that Mueller could not find evidence proving, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Trump or his associates committed a criminal conspiracy to interfere in the 2016 elections.

The Barr summary of the Mueller report really did not say much more than that with respect to conspiracy.

So I accept that a criminal conspiracy, provable beyond a reasonable doubt, was not found.

That's not the same thing as there is "no evidence" of collusion, and saying the investigation was a big witch hunt because the investigation did not find ENOUGH proof of criminal conspiracy in no way diminishes the investigation.

If investigators knew the outcome of investigations beforehand there would never be any reason to investigate anything.

Everything, once it is authorized... a Judge can release the grand jury testimony. They could release all of the classified information if they wanted to. There's no one really stopping that except Trump.

It's not mandatory. But why hide it? And it would be in the best interest of the country and Trump to make it public now. And if there was no evidence of collusion as you suggest, and if there was all one big hoax, then releasing all of it wouldn't be a problem.

Barr wrote cursory letter giving the bottom line. He didn't really write up a thorough summary.
Again, you are looking at this under the lens that everything was done by the book and that the report will simply outline the facts, include exculpatory evidence, and present both sides of the story where controversy exists.

That will not be the case. I outlined specific actions taken by the SC that should make anyone question their motives and intentions. They had 4 people kicked out prior to Mueller's departure for bias and ethics concerns. They tried to get corsi to sign a plea with lies that would implicate trump, threate him with life in jail... and where is he now? A free man.

Use your head man.

Well, I don't think Schiff ever said that they would certainly find a criminal conspiracy, provable beyond a reasonable doubt. Hardly anyone said that. Most people were super suspicious, and I'm sure many on the Left were even hopeful that Mueller would find ENOUGH evidence to prove a criminal conspiracy beyond a doubt.

I can't remember what Brennan said. He was hostile, but it was more about Trump being compromised and working against U.S. interests on behalf of Russia's interests but it is possible to do those sorts of things without committing an actual crime as defined by federal statutes.

The bottom line is this. The fact that a criminal conspiracy wasn't proven doesn't make all the bad and stupid things Trump and his associates did just vanish into thin air. The negative things we've heard about them are still true they just don't amount to a criminal conspiracy.

The reason why Trump critics have a poor opinion of Trump is because Trump and his associates actually did stupid and bad things.

Use your head. Barr has the report. Whitaker was acting AG. Rosenstein is leaving.

The IG is investigating.

You're running out of Deep State agents.

I am not worried. If they did something wrong, we will find out.

One sided.

For the trump Jr. meeting, it will say that he met with a Russian agent and there is no evidence that he took information or anything came of it.

It will leave out the Russian lawyer got special permission from lynch to even enter the country, met with fusion gps the day before and after the meeting, the lawyer has said she got her talking points from fusion gps, glenn simpson-- in his now infamous testimony where he committed perjury multiple times-- said he didn't speak Russian and therefore couldn't communicate with her... right... So the company that Clinton hired to dig up dirt on trump met was working with a lawyer that just so happened to send an unsolicited email to the trump team saying they wanted to have Russia help him win? And the other Russian there has said in testimony he personally knew the Clintons? And the interpreter was from Clinton's state department? oh the coincidences keep piling up.

Glenn simpson also worked for oleg deripaska, who wanted magnitsky relief. What likely happened is simpson tried to double dip. Clinton wanted him to set up a trump team member, and simpson thought he could help his other client, deripaska, with magnitsky relief at the same time. Set up a quid pro quo if you will. Magnitsky relief for deripaska, and Clinton dirt in exchange. I'm willing to bet that the trump team sniffed that out right away and said go pound sand.

But if you leave out all of the details, and just say a Russian lawyer tried to penetrate the trump team and offer him dirt, and trump jr. accepted the meeting, it sure sounds sinister, doesn't it?

It would be easy to weave a narrative, wouldn't it?

I do not accept this necessarily means there is not any evidence that Trump did something wrong, or something he might be embarrassed about, or that there is not at least some, but not enough, evidence indicating a conspiracy.

Beowulf invested a tremendous amount of time and energy into the hoax, give him time. All of the people he idolized are now under fire for being corrupt. His entire world view is being shattered. It can be tough to reconcile, but at this moment he has the choice. What he does with it is up to him.

No indictments.
There are no indictments concerning criminal conspiracy, and there will be no further indictments coming out of the special counsel's office.

But there is a whole lot of space in between did absolutely nothing and criminal conspiracy provable beyond a reasonable doubt, especially within the sphere of counter-intelligence, kompromat, etc.

Goes to show the whole thing was sham from the beginning. Before all this even started, some people decided Trump was guilty. The investigation was a sham, to whitewash what they already decided was true. Now that the investigation says otherwise it doesn't matter, their conviction isn't based on the investigation anyway, didn't need the investigation, was set in their mind before the investigation, and will not change after the investigation.

If investigations could be pre-determined there would never be any need to investigate anything. The whole point of an investigation is to find out the truth about something.

With respect to criminal investigations if investigations conclude without a finding that a person committed a crime that doesn’t mean the investigation was a hoax or that it was a waste of time. It just means not enough evidence was found to prove someone committed a crime. The amount of evidence found can be a little or a lot, significant or insigicant depending on the investigation. Sometimes a lot of evidence can be found but not enough to definitively prove a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Many criminal investigations do not end in a conviction. As an example in 2017, 40 percent of murders in the U.S. went unsolved.

With respect Trump there is a neglected aspect to the Barr letter on the Mueller report which is the counter-intelligence angle. It may very well be that Trump is compromised — in a way that does not expose him to criminal liability — but exposes the country to an unacceptable national security risk. If something like this is true the American people should know, both to mitigate the threat as awareness would eliminate the leverage, and also so voters can make a decision about Trump’s judgment in 2020.

It's more like I'm curious and suspicious.

We already knew Trump was compromised in various ways.

With respect to the Russian government he was compromised because he was trying to do a business deal with the Russian government directly and he wasn't honest about it with the American people. So up until the time we all learned he was trying to do a business deal with the Russia government up until the summer of 2016, when he had previously told people the deal had ended many months before, only Trump, the Russian government, and a few close associates of Trump knew that that was a LIE. And this was a lie which he carried with him up until just a few months ago.

I am curious what other stupid stuff Trump did. And I suspect the Mueller report probably has more things in it, that the Barr letter didn't mention it.

It was known since 2013 he was doing a project in Moscow lol.

Why do you think Trump even ran for President?

Face it, you just want Trump out of office and that is what dictates your beliefs.

You realize the business deal was completely orchestrated by long time lynch Agent Felix sater. Like the other unsolicited offers, he used over the top language and rhetoric like “we’ll have ivanka sit in Putin’s chair, we’ll use Russia to get trump elected!!!”, roped in Cohen for months and strung him along to the point where even he was growing tired and inpatient/skeptical. Ultimately it looks like trump signed a document saying he was interested. But again, it was an unsolicited business offer by people linked to Clinton/Obama admin using over the top, Nigerian prince scam level rhetoric...

Put that together with the trump jr. Meeting, papadapolos meetings with mifsud, downer, halper, Tawil, and others... did it just so happen that a bunch of western intel assets were reaching out to trump team members with unsolicited business offers or promises of dirt? At what point do you grow suspicious that there is serious smoke that someone was setting all of these up to give the illusion of Russian collusion?

I know you will say it’s a wild conspiracy, but the improbability of it all is more of a conspiracy at this point. Especially now that it’s confirmed collusion didn’t exist.

And btw, let's not forget that Barr was able to summarize the Mueller report and reach a conclusion in less than 48 hours, but needs weeks to cover it up with redactions.

What do you think summarize means?
