The fact that Nipsey turned his life around despite not having the world handed to him and having bad influences around him tells me he felt the same way. He owned up to his past and its wrongdoings and became an entrepreneur. Not only that but also showed others that they can do the same thing.

But people are selecting how they want to portray someone they never met. Also the idea that he was all bad as many people portray ITT is not only hilarious but audacious as **** considering most of you are saying he deserved to die. That says a lot about your moral compasses.

I never said he deserved to die, but the gist of what people are saying is "play stupid games, win stupid prizes". You can argue that he tried or did turn his life around, but at the end of the day he was still an active gang member. Not only was he still an active gang member, he was also high up in his set. But even if you think that was all in his past, he was still affiliated, still promoting gang culture, gang music etc.

Like I said, there's no need for me to rub salt into the wound, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend he was an angel. I'm a realist.

I don't think that anybody here wished death on that man.You believe that a gangster "turned his life around" because he started making legal money off of promoting the gangster lifestyle and became famous, while remaining a gangster and still living and commiserating with other gangsters. That says something about your moral compass as well. Money does not equal morality.

I never said he was all bad. I did say his own actions got him killed, had he been home that day reading his kids a book, he'd still be alive. Had he not tried to "keep it real" and argue with a thug, he'd still be alive. Had he not joined the crips and made enemies for himself, he'd still be alive. You can't be mad when you're out there pretending to be a gangster and someone decides to try you.

Again, I grew up in the ghetto, I made something of myself, I give back, but I never pretended to be a gang member, or threatened people with violence because they asked me to turn down my music. Every time I go back to Newark, NJ, I see people I know, and I say hi, we talk, no one wants to shoot me. I speak proper English, and espouse the virtues of hard work, I don't pretend I'm a thug slinging in the corner. And I sure as hell don't go around telling people that I'm an actual killer, not like other rappers who are just making stuff up.

Like I said before I get the love for the guy if you are from the hood or in the Crips but other than that I dont get it. Innocent ppl get killed every day some of them young girls who are raped and then brutally murdered and I'm supposed to feel sorry for a gang member who got killed by another gang member? I feel more sorry for his daughter who had to witness her father getting shot and then kicked in the head.

My life is awesome, I have a great wife, I make enough money to not have to worry about bills and such, planning on having kids soon. It's pretty great actually. I guess everyone who doesn't sugarcoat the truth has a chip on their shoulder. Real question is, why are you so intent on sucking a dead man's dik so hard?

His company was named Marathon Clothing. He said it described life and it's ups and downs, that life is a marathon. That's a good way to describe life in general. I don't see how that's promoting gangster life.

Also a bunch of his clothes had bold prints saying "Crenshaw" where he was from. He was trying to give back, putting money back into the community, giving people jobs.
