Thank God for Mickey Ds and Wal Mart for giving back to the hood by giving people jobs...His company was named Marathon Clothing. He said it described life and it's ups and downs, that life is a marathon. That's a good way to describe life in general. I don't see how that's promoting gangster life.
Also a bunch of his clothes had bold prints saying "Crenshaw" where he was from. He was trying to give back, putting money back into the community, giving people jobs.
You're just grasping at straws as myself and others have mentioned.

You know better than that. All I see is you defending him because he is black, the same way a lot of posters on here defend cops no matter what.

Like I said before white people glamorize gang culture in their own way but no one ITT has owned up to it. Hell, you even had white women talking about how attractive Ted Bundy was when his biopic came out. Some of you are literally obsessed with violence it's hilarious.

Theres a sense that you're born into that environment so for some its not their fault
Everyone they go to school with and everyone around them is part of that lifestyle so they are raised by their environment through no choice of their own.
Now within that dark world, there are some that are more the bad ones, and some that are more the good ones.
What people are trying to express is in that context, Nipsey was leaning towards more of the good ones.
Thats why he kinda still associated around there because those people did like him, and he was an example of growing up in hell and trying to overcome the struggle in the ways that he knew how to try to do in his mind.
there is an energy there that they are trying to express about the character of the man
he was a thug poet

But he was still very much an active member of that community. The news article even says he was giving some clothes to a fellow gang banger that had just got out of prison, so the guy could look fresh when he went home.
What a saint, making sure his fellow gang bangers look ballin straight out of the pokey!

I've known some pretty "gangster" individuals when they're around a group but when they're alone you see a different side. A lot of people who grow up in that harsh environment use it as a defense mechanism. If you don't act hard you're seen as a weak punk and preyed upon. It would be a hellish life that a lot of us could never understand fully so we take shots from the outside and oversimplify it. I'm sure its not an easy thing to shake off when you've lived your whole life like that.

It is still RIP, but acting like he was a saint or uplifting the community just further displays the fake idiocracy era that we are living in.

But he was still very much an active member of that community. The news article even says he was giving some clothes to a fellow gang banger that had just got out of prison, so the guy could look fresh when he went home.
What a saint, making sure his fellow gang bangers look ballin straight out of the pokey!
