Big J,I honestly saw the original karate kid movies several times and I definitely took Larusso's side but in this show I 100% must go with Johnny,he actually grew a lot as an individual and embodies the budo spirit a lot more than what he did as a kid. Daniel became a lot more self absorbed and conflicting person as an adult, as a kid he was still a hothead but it got worse now IMO.

The way he is still obsessing over the past Aldo he won against Johnny(and made peace in those days) and tries to humiliate him in the shop, just assumes always the worst of people and doesn't even try to rationalize or look into anything, constantly trying to start conflicts (which this time opposed to the past is definitely coming from him). I still like Daniel and the scene where they drive together and share a drink has to be one of my favourites in the whole show but I got to say Johnny and his student's are the best part of cobra kai.

Why so much hype? Some parts were funny. Only because of how cringe the script was. The acting was beyond cringe. Terrible, mediocre acting. I also felt the script was rushed. Ending was a big let down. Overall, I would only recommend watching to someone who enjoys cringe.

Although I have to admit Daniel Larusso finally stopped acting like a pussy for once. Only took him a good 30 years. I never understood how he still acted like a scared little puppy even after accomplishing all that he did and beating all those fighters.

Me too, pretty interesting how it seems Kreese is taking over Johnny's role in the cobra Kai and the school going insane. Meanwhile Danny Boy has a few students only that he teaches in the Miyagi Style. Was happily surprised by this.
