in all honesty though even the asian guy can make it. Sure he will probably never pull 7/10+ but if he develops dat personality, changes his mindset, can get a good hair cut, dress well and at least change his body composition a bit he might be able to pull 5's and 6's. Which honestly isn't the worst thing in the world for somebody if you genuinely enjoy their company. Maybe he moneymaxxes as well which would improve his chances. Pretty much this. Pride is important for a man. And I don't mean pride as in the sense of being too proud to put yourself in a place where you might get rejected.

I've said enough times on this board that I went from being basically an "incel" (though I don't think the term nor the weird internet subculture really existed back then) to doing fairly well with women, and pride had a lot to do with it.

Honestly I'm at the point where the acquisition of "things" isn't doing much for me anymore. The car for example.. I thought (as you mentioned) that acquiring that would give me some sense of accomplishment or pride, but it really hasn't. It's just another object in a collection of objects that I've exchanged money for.

They say that things can't fill the hole in your life/soul. I think they're right. My life is missing the core relationships that most people enjoy by the time they're like 1/2 my age. I've also heard that earning over a certain $$ amount doesn't really improve your life beyond a point.. I think that's true too. Granted I'm not some Misc "CEO 10k/day", but I make more by myself than the median household, so if I want something I can usually get it. There's a law of diminishing returns on that though.. Like ok, now I have 2 video cards instead of one.. Or I get a bigger TV.. or nicer furniture, etc.. But once those basic needs are met, you're really just incrementally improving the quality of those items, but not necessarily the quality of your life. You basically need 4 walls, a roof over your head, a bed, and maybe a chair or two, and 3 square meals a day to get by. All else are frills.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the new car.. I enjoy the i9 9900k + 2x 2080 Ti SLI 4k gaming experience.. but I have no one to share these things with. I don't really even have friends to speak of. I still go see one of my old neighbors once in a while, but he's in his 60's and has health issues that keep him from being very active (hip and knee issues from being a biker for a long time), so we mostly just sit around and shoot the breeze. I never do anything really with anyone. I just stay home.. retool my PC, or play games. I watch movies.. I play with my cat. It all feels very trite and meaningless.. because it is. I'm sure that sounds incredibly nihilistic, but realistically if I'm not fulfilling a biological imperative, and I'm not out there saving lives or doing something that actually matters, then what's the point in any of this?

I'm certain I'm not the only one having these thoughts. Most people (especially those approaching middle-age) go through something akin to a mid-life crisis. My problem is that I've been in that state for my entire life.

You mentioned that I have skills. That I've spent time in the military. True, but I always feel like I largely failed in those arenas. There's always someone better.. someone smarter.. more driven. Maybe I shouldn't measure myself by the yardstick of those external examples, but I do. I'm a coward, and a quitter. For example, when I was a kid I wanted to be an artist. I didn't even get interested in tech until I was like 19. I was into sketch art mostly, and I also played ~13 instruments so I really enjoyed music. I like to sing too.. I'm even reasonably decent at it.
Getting back to the art.. So, I have an uncle and a cousin who are both professional artists for a living. They're both amazing, natural talents. I would look at their work as a kid (my cousin is quite a bit older than me, and my uncle is around the same age as my Dad) and couldn't see myself ever being capable of even approaching that level of ability... It was totally demoralizing, and when I found an interest in tech, I ostensibly threw art to the wayside. I doodle once in a while, but I've barely drawn anything in like 20 years.
Music is kind of the same story, except instead of having a cousin or an uncle who was into it, I went to "Band Camp" (lol, queue the American Pie jokes) a couple times on scholarship. The kids there were so amazingly good.. so much better than me.. I haven't played anything since I was 18 (21 years ago).

With women it's worse, because I don't even face that adversity, I just completely ignore them. Other than professional settings where avoidance is impossible (like work, or at stores/restaurants), I try my best not to even look at women. If I do happen to glance at a woman, I immediately remind myself that she's 1000x out of my league, and go about my business. This is why I laugh/get mad when people say Incels feel "entitled" to sex with women. Bull****. I don't feel good enough to be with anyone.. in what way is that a form of entitlement? Sure, some guys (like the stereotypical Elliot Rogers) seemed to think he was amazingly hot ****, and then couldn't understand why women weren't just jumping on his dick, but I think he's more of an exception, not the rule. Maybe I'm wrong. I've never actually been to any of these so-called "incel forums" (although many would probably argue that the Misc has largely become one in and of itself), so maybe that actually is what these guys think. I think it more likely that, like me, they're simply men with little or no self-esteem, and they lack the intestinal fortitude to do anything about it.
