Yep, I agree that when a chick is there from the start and goes thru all of the BS involved with it, they deserve their cut. Its the chicks that come in after the guy's already got it that don't deserve squat IMO.

The very idea people are "Wow he was lucky it could have been worse" just shows you how long this bullsh*t has been going on. Divorce/family court laws need updating and I am well aware it will never happen in today's current Western climate.

They founded and started it together after they got married, she worked for him and supported him from the beginning. Then she settles for 25% after getting cheated on. If it were some random company worth a couple hundred grands or low millions, nobody would bat an eye, but since 25% of x is in this case 35 billion, it's suddenly unfair and outrageous.

While her raising their kids and taking care of the house is admirable, lets not pretend that she was the one flying around the world making multi-billion dollar business decisions that that led to the company's success.
I agree that he set himself up with owing her that much by not establishing any sort of pre or post nuptial contract when he was busy working 80 hour weeks running the business, but lets not kid ourselves that she provided $35 billion worth of support.
I could be missing something? In the age of hyper feminism I'm sure her contributions to the business, outside of raising his family, are posted online, if there are any, but I haven't seen any.

I love that the misc, being the epitome of "toxic masculinity", can accept this outcome and agree with it, acknowledging she is not a gold digger. Really solidifies our perspective as valid.

There is zero evidence that she made any significant contributions to the business via managerial decisions or financial contributions thus far. Moreso, the claim is that she raised their 4 children, which meant all of that time of hers wasn't spent on the business.

In this case there is nothing to be outraged about . In fact I'm pissed she only got 20% of their wealth. She definitely deserved half of the wealth but she opted to just take 20% and move on w her life despite the fact that he probably hurt her by cheating and requesting divorce she still wasnt a vindictive bish... shows that she was a good wife.

Some of you people are straight up retarded. Let me try to clear a few things up for you window licking idiots:
- I get that family courts are typically skewed in favor of the women and usually completely fuk over men, but they settled it themselves outside of court, and she's only keeping 25% of the couple's shares in Amazon, while leaving Jeff with voting control over those shares and giving up her interests in all other companies. This is a lot better for Jeff than the typical half people talk about, but either way, the divorce is clearly his fault and the company was a mutual effort. You're dumb if you don't think she deserved some sort of a stake in it.
- She is keeping stock valued at $35 billion. This is not a cash payout. It is not even remotely close to the same thing as paying someone else cash for taking care of the kids and the house (or any other services or goods), even if that was her only role (it wasn't). That $35 billion doesn't represent cash buying power unless she sells shares.
- $35 billion is 4% of the value of Amazon, not 4% of what the Bezoses are worth.
- Jeff Bezos did not own 100% of Amazon. Jeff is the largest shareholder of AMZN, but only owned about 16% of the shares in the company. After today he is closer to 12%, with Mackenzie holding 4%.

I'm not stating what she's not legally entitled to it, I'm stating that she didn't earn it.
Question - Do you think sheearned $35,000,000,000for being a housewife? Over $1,000,000,000 for every year married??

If we can accept that her husband earned 140 billion for playing online middle-man and pandering stuff created by others, and was able to do so in part because she supported and helped him, then I really see no problem with it.

I don't think most people actually realize how much money that is for being a housewife.

A fired cfo had more of an impact in the company’s success than she did, how much should he/she get? 50bil sounds about right.
Some hooker who sucked Jeff’s dick on a particularly stressful Wednesday night... what does she deserve? A couple of mill at least bro.

I think a lot of people fail to realize that she didn't just sit at home doing 'the housework'.
She was one of amazons first employees.
Now I'll be the first one to jump on the **** them they get nothing in the divorce train, but this simply isn't the case. She was there from before amazon was founded, through all of the **** that came at the beginning and all the prosperous time after.
This is significantly different than most 'high profile' cases where some woman gets married to a billionaire and then attempts to get everything after a few years of marriage.

it would take over $870 billion to get $35 billion from 4%.
From what I understand she walked away with over a 1/3 of their net worth.

4% of amazon = $35b

4% of amazon = $35b
4% of amazon = $35b
We get it. She earned $35,000,000,000 from being a housewife for a couple decades and is now the 3rd richest woman in the world as a result.

$35 Billion...
I don't think most people actually realize how much money that is for being a housewife.

What do you mean? I'm a housewife (but I also work full time which my husband doesn't take any of my earnings). I cook, clean, support him everything he does. He's about to launch a business (Insha'Allah), and I've been researching, working with him to do the back office stuff like getting the LLC, business permits, setting up the accounting system, investing the startup money etc. Yea, as a housewife. Nobody lists that on their resume. It's called supporting your spouse in their goals.
If the business takes off, why wouldn't a housewife be entitled to a portion of the assets? She's supported him every step of the way. Sometimes owning your own business can weigh heavily on a marriage. If you have a good spouse that sticks with you through all the issues - they're absolutely entitled to your assets.
Also, their divorce seems amicable and both seem happy about it. Why are idiot miscers stressing about it? They can do as they please!

Thus unlamented let me die;

Again, it's news because the 25% she's agreed upon happens to be 35 bn. Nobody would care if it was a used car sale or a diner.

And BTW, loyalty shouldn't equal 'extra credit', that should be a given in all marriages.

How dare she.his friends also supported him, how much should they get when bezos stops talking to them?
A fired cfo had more of an impact in the company’s success than she did, how much should he/she get? 50bil sounds about right.
Some hooker who sucked Jeff’s dick on a particularly stressful Wednesday night... what does she deserve? A couple of mill at least bro.
See how fuking stupid all of you *******s are being? And this isn’t a sexist thing so fuk off with that ****, this would apply to both genders.

Seems a wee bit hypocritical to flip out because the 25% of the cake they started baking together happens to be quite a lot.
To answer your questions, they deserve as much as the employer/client is willing to pay. But please, take it up with your employer and demand a raise because you calculated how much your work is worth compared to the company's. Let me know how that works out for you.
