It's just another object in a collection of objects that I've exchanged money for.

They say that things can't fill the hole in your life/soul. I think they're right. My life is missing the core relationships that most people enjoy by the time they're like 1/2 my age. I've also heard that earning over a certain $$ amount doesn't really improve your life beyond a point.. I think that's true too. Granted I'm not some Misc "CEO 10k/day", but I make more by myself than the median household, so if I want something I can usually get it. There's a law of diminishing returns on that though.. Like ok, now I have 2 video cards instead of one.. Or I get a bigger TV.. or nicer furniture, etc.. But once those basic needs are met, you're really just incrementally improving the quality of those items, but not necessarily the quality of your life. You basically need 4 walls, a roof over your head, a bed, and maybe a chair or two, and 3 square meals a day to get by. All else are frills.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the new car.. I enjoy the i9 9900k + 2x 2080 Ti SLI 4k gaming experience.. but I have no one to share these things with. I don't really even have friends to speak of. I still go see one of my old neighbors once in a while, but he's in his 60's and has health issues that keep him from being very active (hip and knee issues from being a biker for a long time), so we mostly just sit around and shoot the breeze. I never do anything really with anyone. I just stay home.. retool my PC, or play games. I watch movies.. I play with my cat. It all feels very trite and meaningless.. because it is. I'm sure that sounds incredibly nihilistic, but realistically if I'm not fulfilling a biological imperative, and I'm not out there saving lives or doing something that actually matters, then what's the point in any of this?

I'm certain I'm not the only one having these thoughts. Most people (especially those approaching middle-age) go through something akin to a mid-life crisis. My problem is that I've been in that state for my entire life.

You mentioned that I have skills. That I've spent time in the military. True, but I always feel like I largely failed in those arenas. There's always someone better.. someone smarter.. more driven. Maybe I shouldn't measure myself by the yardstick of those external examples, but I do. I'm a coward, and a quitter. For example, when I was a kid I wanted to be an artist. I didn't even get interested in tech until I was like 19. I was into sketch art mostly, and I also played ~13 instruments so I really enjoyed music. I like to sing too.. I'm even reasonably decent at it.
Getting back to the art.. So, I have an uncle and a cousin who are both professional artists for a living. They're both amazing, natural talents. I would look at their work as a kid (my cousin is quite a bit older than me, and my uncle is around the same age as my Dad) and couldn't see myself ever being capable of even approaching that level of ability... It was totally demoralizing, and when I found an interest in tech, I ostensibly threw art to the wayside. I doodle once in a while, but I've barely drawn anything in like 20 years.
Music is kind of the same story, except instead of having a cousin or an uncle who was into it, I went to "Band Camp" (lol, queue the American Pie jokes) a couple times on scholarship. The kids there were so amazingly good.. so much better than me.. I haven't played anything since I was 18 (21 years ago).

I'm a quitter. I face adversity and fold.

With women it's worse, because I don't even face that adversity, I just completely ignore them. Other than professional settings where avoidance is impossible (like work, or at stores/restaurants), I try my best not to even look at women. If I do happen to glance at a woman, I immediately remind myself that she's 1000x out of my league, and go about my business. This is why I laugh/get mad when people say Incels feel "entitled" to sex with women. Bull****. I don't feel good enough to be with anyone.. in what way is that a form of entitlement? Sure, some guys (like the stereotypical Elliot Rogers) seemed to think he was amazingly hot ****, and then couldn't understand why women weren't just jumping on his dick, but I think he's more of an exception, not the rule. Maybe I'm wrong. I've never actually been to any of these so-called "incel forums" (although many would probably argue that the Misc has largely become one in and of itself), so maybe that actually is what these guys think. I think it more likely that, like me, they're simply men with little or no self-esteem, and they lack the intestinal fortitude to do anything about it.
I think that was a good and honest assessment. I think most people, including myself, can relate to not fulfilling their potential, feeling like a failure, or quitting at some point.

As for the last part, I think it's a generational difference. From what I've observed, the modern incel is some weird combination of millennial entitlement, lack of masculinity, and a complete lack of social skills. Despite being an "incel" in the past myself, I really can't relate to or approve of what a lot of these young guys are doing/saying. You may have been the norm 10-20 years ago, but these days the Supreme Gentlemen type seem dangerously more common.

Maybe the difference between my generation and the current one is the ever-increasing fatherless home. I at least grew up in a 2 parent household with a positive father figure.

Hey mate, that was a good read.

I just want to say, from reading those several hundred words, I honestly think you're a genuine guy who definitely has more than what it takes to get a girlfriend. And not just any girlfriend, where you are dating her for the sake of desperation, but someone who you can find relates to you and your way of thinking.

People on social media, especially the misc, tend to exaggerate the importance of looks every single day. Sure it definitely can have a big effect on things, but it isn't the only variable. I imagine you're already working on your physical appearance, which leaves you with the personality.

And like i said, it seems like you aren't a complete basement dweller in terms of the mindset you have, and I really admire your outlook on life as I share a similar view. In terms of having all these things, but feeling empty due to not being able to experience it with anyone. Whether it be with friends/partner/ family etc.

Keep your head up and grind it out boyo, you're going to make it.
I'll see you on Mount Olympus

There's no pride to be had in accomplishment if all you do is deny yourself accomplishing anything other than what exists inside the mental boundaries you set for yourself. Life has enough obstacles; stop being your own worst one.

I am not lying and the guy isn't DYEL. He went from skinny fat to beer bellied.
He does however try to flirt with every chick he meets given the opportunity. (srs)

If you can grow a beard and have a full head of hair, use both to the absolute max. My own mother tells me i look terrible without my hair styled. If you don't have natural good looks, you have to use everything to your advantage. Some guys have less hope than others.

You sum it up brother.

As for acquiring stuff, I think you should try living a minimalist life style and reconnecting with nature. Just get back from 5 days trekking alone in the mountain, I feel we are more at peace doing this than playing game and stuff.

Ofc, I do play games too or read cause we can't live in the moutain all the time, at least I can't for the moment, but I plan to retire there. It is easier to live like a true outcast/hermit so alone in the middle of nowhere or surrounded by a minimal amount of people rather than living like an outcast in the middle of a city. Sure you have friends there but the more time pass, the more they found a family. Half of my friends have found a household and each year that pass each year I'm more and more the "loner" during dinner/afterwork. At some point it is kinda a bit depressing.

I don't know, when I'm outhere, I don't find that life sucks that much.

Wish you well bro and take care

I do usually feel better after a week hunting with my dad every November. My parents live in a tiny town where cell service is sparse, and they don't have internet. We just hunt. It's like detoxing.

Yeah, third kid could work it out easily. First one could work it out with some celltech, beard and fully shaved head or toupee. Middle guy is above average in China.

That is actually one of the few that could be saved by a beard. That philtrum is easily the worst part and looks almost exactly like Dan Blizerian without the beard. Don't believe me just google it

I'm kind of in the same boat as you, although i'm a little younger. Given how brutal and judgmental the misc can be, albeit among complete strangers, i made it a point not to air my personal laundry on these boards (see my join date).

I've never had sex with a girl, nor even kissed one, so i'm far deeper down the rabbit hole than you are. The thing with me is that i actually had many attractive girls, going back to my High School days, express interest in me but i never shot my shot. Funny thing is, i always knew that if i had just asked, i would have secured the date. What scared me the most, was looking ahead and not what was in front of me. I was never one to seek one night stands, nor did i want them, so i viewed any potential meeting or date as something that would eventually develop into a relationship. In a way it was always all or nothing with me, which was my personal downfall. In hindsight i understand that the early stages of meeting someone and getting to know them, is a gradual process that must be allowed to take place between 2 people. My fear always was not meeting the expectations of the other person, and letting my flaws (of which they are many) to get in the way of compatibility. The idea of me just being desirable in one's mind rather than in the flesh was comforting for me. You know, you build the person up in your mind and then they dig below the surface and it comes crashing down. I didn't want that to happen to me. So despite signals being sent my way i chose to ignore rather than engage.

Am i saying this to hint at some advice for you? I'm not sure, don't think so. I don't see it getting any better or different for me. While i do long for female companionship i'm quite content being without one and not let that ruin me. In the past i used to get depressed, but now that i'm older i can deal with it. I'm not weird, and i don't consider myself a social outcast. i think if i keep improving myself, and being the best version of myself, i think i may just convince myself eventually that it may be time for me to shoot the shot. Don't let for things to come to you, that work is on you, and on all of us.

Good luck, don't give up

Ok I didn't read much of that but the sentences I did read made me wanna reach for the Prozac

Bruh stop being so negative, you probably have no friends because not many people want to be around this negativity especially if they feel they are making an effort and you're still being a lil bitch about it.

And stop believing everything you read on the internet. Judging from the interaction I've had with you, you seem to be one of them Alt-reicht *******s that think the big scary Moslems are the boogeyman and there's some agenda to wipe the white race out......

You're not gonna find any girls if that's what you think of the world. You're acting like a victim.

Stop blaming others and work on yourself.
I genuinely feel sorry for you and want you to pull yourself out of this gross mindset you have channeled.

So you lack confidence in your personality, not your looks. You can fix that. You could die tomorrow and none of those insecurities are going to matter. Take every shot that you see. You aren't whatever idealized image you have in your head anyways.
