A "repercussion" of murder not being illegal is that the average person would act more responsibly towards their fellow human. Goes without saying but there would be negative consequences too. But in this day and age too many people just see others as tools to exploit. As a consequence people get really angry at having their honour challenged and put on a coat of insecurity and try to play power games everywhere they go thinking everyone is out to get them which is an overreaction and these people will never be truly happy. These people are otherwise referred to as people with a napoleon complex or insecure manlets. But that insecurity only manifests enough such that we need terms like these because too many people think they can treat others like utter human trash and then if someone gets mad the response is "just chill bro why you such a spaz." Eventually someone has enough and decides that acting very primal and insecure is the only way to live in this world. People would also stop doing stupid "social experiments" / pranks at other people's expense. Obviously not endorsing legalizing murdertruth. The basic function of existence is eating, fukcing, and sleeping. That's all animals do and care about. The one difference between us and animals is that we have a functioning IQ and brain that allows us to do things beyond those 3 things. The issue is anything aside from those 3 things is just cope, we all cope to try to create our own meaning in a world that objectively cannot said to have much meaning aside from those 3 tasks. 200 years ago humanity hadn't advanced as much so we spent most of the day finding food and the few extra hours you had left in the day you'd talk to your buddies about stacy's ankles and be tired from hunting all day and go to bed. Now those 3 tasks are extremely easy and we have too much time on our hands which means we spend more time coping, aka defining our own meaning in a world where we cannot objectively define the purpose or meaning of life

Every decision/law has both positive and negative consequences, nothing is inherently a good decision and will always have negative consequences and vice versa. It's just whether or not the positives outweigh the negatives, which they don't by legalizing murder, no shyt.

The only logical explanation for why manlet insecurity in society is often so high that we need specific terms like "napoleon complex" is that there's some societal factor involving how shorter people are treated, at least by some people, that makes them rage over time and act in a way that stands out. The only alternative explanation is that on average shorter people are more predisposed towards anger and rage for no reason related to societal factors but purely because of genetic predisposition. You tell me which one makes more sense.
