but muh eNdAnGeReD SpEcIes.. An animal is an animal. Literally every species hunts and kills, humans are the only ones who might have some guilt about doing so in an unethical manner.
No we shouldn't kill humans. You don't hunt your own species. People like you should go live in the wild with these animals you are so obsessed with. Let's see how much they care about sparing you just cause you feel bad for them.
No death will be completely painless but a quickly bullet is probably better than dying in many other ways. Life is cold, and not everyone panders to pretentious 1st worlders who complain about the reality of the world while buying meat from grocery stores

I think it's the latter, and what you're doing is creating a straw man argument. But I admit I haven't read every post, so I may be wrong.
Either way, now just for fun, tell me why we shouldn't be hunting dogs and cats?
And also tell me, if a superior alien species came to earth and decided to hunt humans, what reasons would you give them to convince them they shouldn't do it?

In countries like China people eat dogs and I'm not close minded enough to judge them and shake my head at them simply because they were raised with different cultural values. To a hindu in India, hunting a cow is a horrific action, they are seen as near God figures. Yet they could judge us for eating steak but they generally don't, not nearly as much as we in Western society seem so quick to judge asians for eating dogs. Would I personally do it? No.
Well if their intellectual superiority over us is about the same magnitude as an average human and an average animal, we wouldn't really have much hope of communicating to them anyway. I'll concede it's a bit of a strawman based on the context though seeing so much rage over it, I get the feeling there's actual humans who would celebrate a wild animal killing a trophy hunter. The moment someone starts valuing the life of a random animal over the life of a random member of your own species I honestly cannot see them as anything but a hindrance to our society. There cannot be much lower than that. I would not expect them to act in an empathetical manner towards me at all times and be ready for anything because that is a despicable way to feel. In misc terms, it is the epitome of cucked. Just trying to picture wolves cheering on a bear to kill a pack member. My skin crawls just trying to imagine it; it would never happen. Yet in this day and age with humans...can't say the same.

I personally love dogs and cats, but I really don't have a rational / convincing argument why we shouldn't be able to hunt them.

So if you are not judging someone who eats dogs, then why are you judging someone who doesn't view the killing of a sleeping lion as an act of heroism? It seems hypocritical.Well if their intellectual superiority over us is about the same magnitude as an average human and an average animal, we wouldn't really have much hope of communicating to them anyway. If it solely comes down to "species" then it's an even stronger argument that we should be allowed to hunt dogs and cats. You say we "value" them more. Actually, many people don't value cats and dogs at all.Now specifically in regards to celebrating a wild animal killing a trophy hunter:
Person A celebrates a wild animal killing a random trophy hunter.
Person B celebrates a wild animal killing a ****phile / murderer / other type of scum.
In that case, would you view both persons A and B as equally despicable?

I'm not judging someone for not viewing it as an act of heroism, as I don't see it as heroism either. I guess you could say I'm judging people for getting so defensive over others hunting lions, when they endorse the hunting of other animals by merely not being vegan.

No I would not view both people as equally despicable. Humans can be shyt too. But I said random, meaning a random human you don't know and a random animal. The average random person is just like me and you, so I wouldn't assume the worst.

Guy Iโm (was-lol)seeing was crying about this **** the other day. He just doesnโt get it. I tried explaining to him how it works and how it benefits the country they do it in but he couldnโt stop crying.
So here I am back on the misc.
Edit- I canโt believe people think itโs nicer to buy meat from a grocery store... Yโall are fukn idiots. Live freely in the wild, get shot for meat OR live in captivity with horrible conditions until your killed for meat.. hmm wonder which one sounds nicer for the animal?

So what's wrong with someone who has a pet lion expressing dissatisfaction over the "alpha male" in this video? Purely logically speaking, why is a person who feels bad for a slaughtered lion "worse" than a person who feels bad for a slaughtered dog or cat? Do you not see that it simply comes down to bias and personal preferences?

Fair enough, but what's discussed in the thread is much more complex than simply hunting. It's the "sleeping" part of the story, and the guy seen as brave / hero / alpha. You have IMO simplified and twisted it a little. Many people don't value cats and dogs but in Western society they are generally seen as animals that add value to life so based on that it's, I imagine, outlawed to eat them. I get why that would be in place.
In Western society, yes. But despite that, purely from a rational standpoint, why shouldn't there be some event where cats and dogs are being hunted even in the USA? Surely it would be carefully controlled and those animals would not become extinct because of that. My point is, you cannot provide a rational answer to that question aside from "feels". The "value to life" thing is an excuse, a cop-out.My point: "we" are biased. People have different likes / dislikes, and sometimes it simply comes down to that and nothing more. In the case of this thread and how some people are reacting, there is no absolute truth here.

The animal rights activists should pool their money together and hire some mercenaries to track down these trophy hunters and murder them in their sleep. Then leave their corpses out there for the lions to eat. Shouldn't be too difficult. The jungle is dangerous.

Some people just don't get it. Animal rights activists never donate enough money to manage wild life. Hunters are required to generate sufficient funds. Beyond that these people still ignore that these animals were typically marked for death by the game wardens anyway.
We deal with these people in Idaho all the time. Up in arms when a hunter kills a wolf, but when enough wolves aren't killed fish and game spends tens of thousands renting a helicopter to kill them. Lets see revenue from people hunting the animal. OR paying tons of money for the government to kill the animal. Seems like a simple concept, but beyond the bunny huggers.

I know plenty of countries who absolutely loathe US and everything about and openly call for our destruction, and not just those in the Middle East. And unlike here in the west, they have no problem with political correctness when it comes to their opinions. Do i judge Asians for skinning animals alive and in some cases even cooking them alive? Fuk yes i do, and will continue to do so. They may have their own culture, but if i see savage behavior, i will call it out.we shouldn't because we live in a culture where we value dogs and cats more so than other animals.

Second, i think there are SOME people who would cheer an animal killing the hunter. With that being said I don't necessarily value animal's life over humans, but i regard it as life nonetheless. I have absolutely zero issue with hunters killing for food, but when it's dumb *******s who get their jollies off from trophy hunting, then it's them who deserve to be called out, not the people criticizing
