afaik the catholic church mentioned last year that the whole thing is falling apart and needs to be restored (aka france should pay for it). from the looks of it, doesn't look like it was done by the peace brigade this time. will wait for more info.

I remember reading last week that they were finally cleaning the gargoyles on the roof... possibly related...


I went there last year, it's an amazing building and if it survives I'd recommend visiting if ever in Paris.

This is the saddest part. Yeah, it was deteriorating before, but the "fixes" likely caused the fire.
