This thread helped me out of my slump. From mid 1400s back to mid 1500s. Next stop 1600!

Abandoned Sicilian for now in favor of a philidor set up, and I've been winning more as black.

Took me 10 weeks but i finally made it to 1k. Still no sign of golfpants though. Dude hasn't played me since the first week when i started learning lol.

lmao, the sicilian is supposed to be a very difficult line to play. any mistake can result in you getting fukked. took me a while to figure out that you're supposed to play mostly out of the queenside and just fianchetto/castle out of the kingside

Been philidoring it up these days, but not the classic move order. the classic move order is kinda ass. I like playing D6 first.

That’s easy, just read a book or two, solve a few hundred puzzles, and you will at least be 1800.
