I have a theater room.... why would I ever go to a movie theater? Besides, my country’s second amendment allows me to carry a gun and conceal it legally, does yours? No, it does not. I also have high-capacity, high-caliber rifles. Can you have those? No.

There is no reason why you should be arguing that Mexico is better than the United States. It is not even close.

If you’re really all that worried about safety(miscers are exaggerating) I’d go to Merida or Valladolid. Both are very safe but the food is practically mostly pork and fatty food. They’re close to beaches(Cancun being one of them), and you can find cenotes there which are just
biuriful.

As for in Mexico City, I’d recommend going to Bellas Artes, and maybe check out some museums around there(if you like museums). Polanco is also like the boujee part around there. Most tourist things will probably be downtown. Also, you should get some pan dulce while you’re there.

Is Mexico corrupt? Yes, but as long as you mind your business you should be fine, honestly.

Yes. Used to be a huge fan of Cancun and playa del Carmen. Love Harry’s. Their steak and lobster was so hngggg. Amazing cotton candy centerpiece for dessert. Real classy place.

There was this cool little seafood place on the water too that I enjoyed quite a bit, mainly for the salt water crocodile that used to cruise around eating all of the bread that people tossed down to it.

Probably have 15-20 visits over the years. To be honest I lost track.

There's a lot of other countries that are safer that you can visit. Unless you have family there or something like that I'd pass. Sure you may go and be fine but there's a chance you go and never see your family/friends again. Why take an unnecessary risk?

If you are going to go just be extremely safe man. Don't get too drunk or anything like that.

So you have never been to the interior of Mexico? If that's the case you should really visit guadalajara, mexico city, puebla, monterrey, chihuahua, morelia, aguascalientes, zacatecas, guanajuato ;etc. All very nice places.

Yes. I have been to mexico city twice. I didn't like it. Are we done here or are you still dying to convince me your country is superior to mine?

The topic is it safe to travel. The answer is no. The answer is supported by data. Mexico is becoming increasingly more dangerous to travel to and it is not even a debate. If you have a problem with it, I suggest you write the state department.

I've been traveling to Mexico for business since 2001 and 90% of the time by myself. My customer always send a driver to pick me up from the airport, I'm not trying to scare anyone but if you go to foreign country trying to act "Misc tough" yes you will find yourself on the business end of an ass whoppin' and all of your sh!t will be taken from you. If you know someone in Mexico I strongly suggest that you travel with them if possible if not be careful. Don't go down there wearing your flashy watches and such. Places to visit, Guanajuato, Puebla, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mazatlan and my personal favorite is a small city called Pachuca in the state of Hidalgo which used to be a mining town.

Hey OP,

I have been to the interior of Mexico many times. I recommend Zacatecas for the beautiful city center, great architecture, and good atmosphere. Food is great there too! Check out some of the mines and Cerro de la Bufa for some nice aesthetics. I believe there is even a night club in one of those mines. Aguascalientes is good too, some decent architecture and probably one of the safest in Mexico last time iirc.

Forgot to mention Monterrey and the sheer amount of qts there.


San Miguel de Allende takes the cake in terms of aesthetics. It's also a big place where very many Canadian and American people live and retire, so you may feel a little at ease there.

Im Mexican and i havent had issues all my life, if you are smart enough nothing will happen to you in my experience, specially if you are american. To my knowledge at least where im from people wont mess with foreigns maybe if you are in a pretty chitty area at most they will rob you but like i said im 24 and havent been robbed or anything but i have to say im upper middle class so i dont travel around in public transformation or chitty areas, just be around known tourist areas and you will be fine. Have traveled to the US plenty times and felt just like that, chitty areas = danger. Im from Veracruz, if you have questions you can PM me.

I think you'll be in for a shock, OP. Had family members who went to Mexico, including my father. What they told me is very interesting, to say the least.
The media paints Mexicans as indigenous looking people who live in shacks (partially true), but they don't talk about the people who look like this:



Not saying all of them look like that, though. But certain parts definitely have very European looking people.
