Ive watched every marvel movie multiple times and just got back and also felt like IW was a better movie. I felt like IW felt more serious with the feeling of dread around our heroes. Also this movie was basically tying up everything for phase 4 so that also takes a ton of time with fluff. Overall great though

enjoyed it a lot

Spoiler!
The cinematography where Cap was standing alone facing down Thanos entire fkking army was great, then Sam's voice coming in "Cap, on your left", and the whole "avengers assemble" bit was just beautiful to see on a cinema screen

Alright, No Spoilers mini-review.

First, let me say IW was a better film, it was better written and crafted. But, that doesn't mean Endgame was bad or mediocre, no, it was great and entertaining to the max.
My problems with Endgame are that the filmmakers were pushing and forcing things in order to reach the great final moments, that made them make things happen easily during the first and second acts, it was clear they were prioritizing the delivery of great moments and a powerful finale. But even during those rushed events they managed to pay homage to all the MCU, in a great way.

Even when things are being rushed but their execution itself was masterclass.

That being said, in order to fully enjoy and feel the great moments of this film, you have to be a fan of the MCU and watched all the films.

Is it a perfectly written film? No way, IW was better.
Is it entertaining? to the max.
Does it pay tribute and homage to MCU films? Perfectly.
Does it deliver great moments? Absolutely.

I wrote out a summery but it might be pretty long still lol.

Spoiler!
1st hour:
They find thanos hiding out. He used the stones to destroy themselves so no one could take them back and undo what he did. Thor beheads him on the spot lol. It Fast forwards 5 years and nearly everyone has given up hope on finding a way to fix it all. Except ant man. He comes out of the quantum realm and thinks there’s a way to use the quantum realm to travel back in time. He convinced Stark to think of a way. Stark finds out how they can pull it off but they have only one shot to make it work and not ruin the present.

2 hour:
Retrieving the stones from the past. They spit into three teams going to the three different planets that all the stones were at a few years back. Pretty cool scenes here. Super emotional scene where Johansson sacrifices herself to get that Blue stone from Death, her and Arrow guy were fighting each other to be the one to do it, I had a tear roll down my face srs lol. Everyone is able to get the stones but past thanos finds out about the plan and gets a way to secretly go back to the present with them.

3rd hour:
Avengers HQ with the stones. Hulk volunteers to use the stones since he would be most likely to survive the snap. It almost kills him but he brought everyone back. As soon as they realized it worked (no one who died before appears there, but they get some clues right away) thanos rains hellfire down on the compound from his ship and injures and traps lots of the team under rubble.

Captain Mercia, Thor, and iron man get out and thanos is there waiting for them. Epic 3v1 fight happens. Arrow finds the glove and stones under the rubble while that happens. Epic moment where Steve Rogers wields Thor’s original hammer against thanos, but thanos still gets the upper hand on the three and there’s a super dire moment where Rogers is almost beaten to death and is barely standing against thanos when his whole evil army arrives and the set up looks impossible to win, even compared to IW. Then BOOM, dr strange’s crew has their portals activating behind captain and EVERY super hero from all the movies comes in in a massive hero army, it was crazy awesome. (Except Black Widow, she stays dead even though Hulk says he tried to bring her back too).

Huge final battle starts. Hero’s are trying to get the stones glove out of the battle ground while fighting everything off, playing hot potato with it. They start winning the battle then thanos orders his ships to rain hellfire again and kill everything on the field. People start having to focus on surviving hellfire amd thanos gets a hold of the glove. When he tries to put it on, captain marvel tries stopping him from closing his fists. She’s strong enough to keep him from closing it but he takes the power stone out then uses it to KO her. then right before he puts it back and fixes the glove in place Iron man comes in and has a struggle to take the glove but thanos easily kicks him away. Him puts the glove on and snaps his fingers, BUT, iron man swooped the stones off in their struggle, he wasn’t trying to take the glove. He has his own iron man glove, put the stones on and snaps his fingers to turn thanos and his army to ashes.

Iron man is critically injured from the snap and you get another tear jerker moment where he dies with his wife and Spider-Man by his side, right on the battle field. Afterwards, they tie everything up with his funeral, Thor retiring, captain America going back far in time far in the past to reput all the stones in their time line to prevent multiple timelines and paradox’s, and he decides to live out his life as a regular guy so back in present day he returns as an old man and hands his shield off to his friend (forgot this guy’s name).

I give it a 10/10, don’t know how in the pluck there are so many moaning about the movie not living up to the hype.

Lol at that feminist lineup in the end battle. Garbage.

The Hulk was a no show for the last two movies. Talk about disappointing.

Not enough fighting too much comedy.

Im just glad that Kunt Brie Larson didnt kill Thanos and had minimal time on screen with her stupid ****ing haircut. It was looking real dire there for a moment.

And what happened about people not being able to handle the stones? Now just a nobody like Hawkeye can hold one?

Marvel phase 4 looks like its going the way of the comics. Diversity that no one wants. Disney gonna destroy the 2 biggest movie franchises within 10 years. Quite an achievement!
Not gonna lie brag you sound like a salty kunt. If that one 10 second scene bothered you that much then you need to get off Misc for a bit because that’s sounding like a very stereotypical miscer- which is not a good thing.

Seen it yesterday, it was a great movie, even my girl who doesnt like superhero movies enjoyed this one. Some people were actually sobbing on some particular scenes. What a great finale to a decade of MCU. IMHO there were some plotholes, but I didnt really cared about those, it generally felt that the movie was epic.

Spoiler!
The visual of seeing bloody Cap alone on a battle field with Thanos's whole army coming for him is the single greatest shot in cinematic history. Plus him wielding the hammer was everything I have ever wanted and more.

I'll start off with the bad first, although I thought overall this was a pretty good 7/10 movie with it doing a lot of little things that were just amazingly crazy.

Spoiler!
We still doing the spoiler thing here?

Still, the bad:
1. They set up some loose rules to Time Travel and, like many other time travel movies, they ignored their own rules at the end. By their own rules, I don't see how Cap could have returned from the alternate time line he created when he decided to stick around and be with Peggy Carter. Fuking time travel movies. On that subject, they overall nailed it with cameos and I know they had a lot to do here in this movie, but I would have marked out bigtime with just some kind of nod or easter egg with Kang the Conqueror, now that they own those rights.

2. The SJW wammen moment was silly, nobody in my theater was very excited for it either. I won't make a big deal about it, because it's not a big deal, but it just goes to show you, You can not cram in and shoe-horn strong wammenz and have it work on any level. I have two girls. Their favorite characters are Captain America, Thor and Spider-Man. They like Cap because he's a great character and they like Thor/Spidery because they are funny. If Marvel or Disney honestly wants to make women matter, then fukingdo it. MakeGood Characterswho happen to be women for fuks sake. People like good characters and for the most part don't care about skin color, vaginas and other horsechit. Take the Thanos fight, Captain Marvel (and I'll get to her again here in the bad section below), she fought very evenly with him and it felt unearned and shoehorned. It wasn't because I'm a stupid neanderthal who hates wammen because in the same fight the Scarlet Witch goes all out and does better against Thanos than anyone and it was great.. She earned it after what Thanos did to her and the Vision. It wasn't great because she was a strong wymon who didn't need no man, it was great because it was earned and was satisfying.

3. Captain Marvel is utterly unlikable, unrelatable and a very obnoxious character that Brie Larson brings no energy and no charisma to the table with. I don't even mind too much she's clearly the most powerful hero, whatever, but having a powerful character is a problem when they're arrogant and dismissive of everyone around them. Superman, the 70s and more classic version (not the more recent train wreck) always circumvented this with his attitude. He was relatable and admirable. He didn't yawn and say he'd handle everything by himself, look at a cat stuck in a tree and say that job is beneath him, etc... Captain Marvel's attitude is like the worst of everything, on one hand she's arrogant about being so powerful, yet on the other she's also deluded, as in the beginning casually going off to kill Thanos, who at the time was thought to still have the IG and with a massive army. Miserable lines like, "this time you have me!" (which is why they will win) and then actually doing very little when it mattered with the Time Heist, just awful. And, of all the Marvel wammen heroes, I find them all very attractive, even that bald Wakandan girl has such a funny personality and is so great I very quickly get past her bald head and think she's great, and good looking. However, something about Larson does nothing for me and by the time she came back with the Carl Manvers pixie cut she actively disgusted me. With a good meal, they say the first bite is taken with your eyes. Well, she's got me gagging and saying No Thanks.

4. The end fight, doesn't really belong here as "bad" -- however, it was all spectacle. I just got done watching the most recent Dragonball Z Super movie with Broly. THAT was an epic fight. This one was an amazing spectacle, it was awesome seeing so many strange characters all interacting, but the pacing of the fight itself could have been better. IMO, it was at it's best when Cap wielded Mjolnir to turn the tide, briefly. Also, that moment when they all arrive was a crowd pleaser.

GOOD:
Lot of character development
The heist was pretty fun, although I don't feel an immediate need to revisit/rewatch
The fight was good at the end, even if it could have been better in some ways
If they had to send off some characters, they did it the right way with Cap and Iron Man

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Time travel movies all have the same problems, but it still bugs me...

Spoiler!

When Cap went to take the stones back to the grand wizard lady, how did he get back to the same universe in present day as an old man? I thought any changes made a branched new universe? And when he went back to be with Peggy, wasn't there a frozen Cap also out there in the same universe?

Meaning, fast forward to 2010 (or whenever they find Cap and thaw him), peggy is no longer a lonely old lady in a hospital, she's living happily with an old version of himself...

That's only one example, just about everything they did while time traveling would have made several other movies never even happen. How about Loki just peace-ing out, while he was still 100% evil. Remember, he was the real bad guy killing thousands of people in Avengers 1. He didn't become sort of good until later. But now he won't get the chance because he escaped from his massacre scot free. With the fukking stone... Then War Machine and Nebula go back and completely undo the events of the first GoTG, stopping Quill from even touching the stone... which would probably cause the Guardians to never even exist in that timeline.

Yep, genuinely think this is an end of an era. Marvel is going to be straight garbage if the last few movies were any indication (not that IW and EG were too bad, you can just see where it's going from here with Captain Marvel etc.)

And DC will just continue to copy Marvel's 10 year old model, accumulating a few hits and a few bombs but never getting their chit together.

Deadpool/Xmen are our only hope (after this Dark Phoenix movie flops that xmen universe out of existence of course)
Broke both legs and ankles crew.

They turned most to dust last movie but it felt like nothing because the audience KNEW they would just bring them back to make more movie millions.

Also, avengers HQ gets nuked from Thanos cruiser, and literally everyone survives with a few scratches, normal humans too. The two "deaths" in the movie weren't really deaths, they were just the characters personal choice.

Also, what bugged me is that they make a huge plot point with black widow "gone forever, cant go back she's gone" then literally 30 mins later you have gomorah walking around like nothing happened in the present.

We still doing the spoilers thing? We should come to an agreement when we can drop it, I guess at least waiting the weekend..

Spoiler!
I said the same thing -- the moment Cap stayed with her, it should have made it's own time line and he would not have existed to be there at the end, he'd been in some other time line. A friend of mine told me that we never actually saw Peggy's husband, though. Seems like a big stretch to think Cap just laid low for 50 years, IMO

Loki peacing out, yeah where'd he go with that stone? They probably just ****ed that entire time line, as Loki surely went back to Thanos with it. In that time line, they all probably get fuked. In fact, they might have fuked over a lot of alternate realities, and billions-trillions of people, to save their own time line.

Spoiler!
Someone else was complaining about some things, many of them fairly valid, but was wondering how Cap could take shots from Thanos -- they didn't explain it well, but with Mjlonir specifically, anyone worthy to hold it also gains the power of Thor, so Cap was way more powerful for that fight, it wasn't just a good weapon

Gamora was her previous version, the one who had not met and fallen in love with Quill, which I guess is how they will bring her back -- and technically, they could just show up 1/2 second before Black Widow died, create a new time line, take her out and have that version, too. In fact, anyone who wants to come back has an easy way to do it from here on out with the way they did time travel.

With Cap, if Evans ever gets the acting bug and wants to do more, they could also just like re-inject him with more super serium solider and turn him young or do anything they want.

Overall, does anyone else kind of feel like they are not "done" with these movies, but unlikely to really get into them or care as much here on out? I feel a little that way after Endgame, that I'm kind of not really looking forward to anything, at least until the Xmen and FF get into the MCU.

Like Dickstroke who only watches DC and refuse to watch Marvel unless “arrrr... matey” so they wont receive any money from him.

In blu-ray forums, some got banned for trashing it before they watched it, giving spoilers to spite Marvel fans. Lol

Anyway, what do you all think of the New and Improved Thor?

Spoiler!
Disney+ is getting a Loki TV show as well as a Black Widow TV show, and Captain America is getting a TV show showcasing his adventures in the 20th century. Hulks contract has ended too but he didn't die, so that wasn't a guarantee.

Overall pleased with the movie. Don't give a chit about the time/space fuk up mentioned above. It was entertaining, gut wrenching at times and had some lulzy parts. I didn't go into it with high expectations regardless of being a big fan for the last decade so maybe that helped. Definitely some cheesy and some drawn out parts. I enjoyed the ending although I wanted a few more to die off.

- women "handling it" scene was forced and goofy, could feel the collective sigh in the theater lol, just glad CM didn't save the day woulda been pissed
- the passing of the shield should have been to Bucky. Felt it was a diversity move and not how the story should have gone. Disney riding hopes for next Cap movie going way of Black Panther success
- what was the pounding after the credits? sounded like a weapon being forged....

Spoiler!
They loosely implied they weren't following "back to the future/terminator/time cop" time travel rules. Its more along the lines ofRick and Mortybut with time travel. They went back in time... BUT in another dimension where thanos had not retrieved the stones yet. Thats why they were able to steal the stones and not have THEIR dimensions timeline altered. Speaking of which, i'm surprised Natalie Portman reprised her role. I thought she was done and over with anything Marvel.

In the comics, before SJW Marvel, initially it was Bucky, but more recently it's been Sam Wilson/Falcon. Honestly, the MCU version of Falcon is pretty awesome and I like him, although I wasn't feeling his beard in this movie. Quick tip guys, don't shave the underneath of your chin, it just doesn't fuking look right. His was a tightly shaped beard, I get it, but that was too much. I have a pretty good jaw line, at least for an overall lean/ecto-shaped non-bulky guy, I'm fairly lean and don't carry pudge in my face lucky for me, I don't need a beard to be a makeshift jawline and neither does the black Falcon guy, but by doing that it just looks wrong. I'm not the beard expert, but when I grow a short one out, I shave a straight line underneath my face around the neck area. Do not do a George Lucas thing though, ever.

Oh and yeah I think he's always been entertaining so I'm fine with him being the successor, SJW quotas or not

Spoiler!

It was most likely a homage to Stark foraging his first Iron Man suit in the cave.
It could have gone to either one since they've both been the "new" Captain America;
