Just be glad that you got a solid answer. In today's dating world, getting blocked and NC'ed is basically a NO. I've only had girls lead me on and I had to be the one to just NC them and ignore them since. I can honestly say that it sucks more not knowing her true feelings/intentions versus getting led on because the result is the same: You ain't with her anyway! Breaking NC is not the issue. It's what you said that's weak.

But all is not lost. You go to North Carolina for one of two reasons:
- You hope to get a response out of her and "win"...but you still haven't let her go and now you're playing stupid games trying to score cheap points. You're still lame.
- You genuinely have no interest in her at all, so even if she does come crying back you've moved on. You get on with your life, but it feels a little better inside.

If you go NC but still obsess over her, what's the point of NC? Do you really win if you can't get her out of your head? But if you hit her up and she rejectomentos, now you know and can close the chapter and move on...did you really lose?
